step 2:

Run the wire through the rubber grommet under the fuse box, along the wire harness clips on the fender, through the front radiator support alongside the harness through the passenger side behind the headlight enough to reach the fan temp switch plug.

step 3:

Cut the Bw/Grn wire at the fan temp switch plug about 1 or 2 inches from the plug.
Solder a 6 inch long stranded wire gauge 18 to the wire on the plug side. Slide a 1 inch heat shrink tube as insulator. You can also use a electrical tape to wrap the solder joint.
Tape the end of the other Bw/Grn wire end.

step 4:

Twist the two wire ends together and use a wire nut or solder and put a heat shrink tube. Tuck away the wires under the radiator support.

Test: Switch the ignition switch to ON, then with a paper clip, short the brown and Bw/Grn terminals on the plug end. The fan should run in slow speed. If it does not, troubleshoot the radiator fan resistor and low speed relay.

Are we leaving the blk/Green wire intact to the dme or are we
cutting it OFF? I am a little confused on if we are Teeing or
cutting. Do we need the dme signal to trigger the relay? Or
is the switch triggering it, as you said the M42 engine not use
a dme signal control? If left intact can the dme be effected?
I am just wondering if This fix can be relyed on as permanent.

None of these wires go to the DME. They go to the fan relay and activate the fan via the radiator temp switch. No Should have no issues at all.

I run a switch from ground to the high fan wire and have that in my cabin for high fan for racing at the track and cooling between runs

Default sensor

its on passenger side of radiator. It won't work if air is in there. I had to incline the front of the car up (2' high) take radiator hose off dr side hold up high. Then I took another hose, attached to radiator and held up high and filled, ran engine til it "Burped" the air bubbles out, filling as needed.
