Not that neither of those should effect anything, but that's when it happens. I'd like to know what's going on here myself. Anyone had any experience with this? __________________ SOLD!!! 1999 332ti //M Sport Titanium Silver M3 S52 3.2 I-6 Engine, M3 Clutch w/ ti Getrag Trans, Z3 3.15 LSD medium case diff and half shafts, OEM Hatch Spoiler, Eurosport HP Underdrive Pulleys, FDM, 17" DS1 rims, M3 Front Struts & Springs, M3 Instrument Cluster, 3-spoke //M steering wheel with tri-color stitching, SSK, CCFL Angels in Depo projectors with 5k HIDs | | | 04-21-2006, 06:21 PM | #5 | Moderator Join Date: Jun 2003 Location: Bouncing off the rev limiter in CT! Posts: 3,156 | There is no cable. The E36 cluster is notorious for being intermittent and/or dying completely. Normally, when this happens, all the gages die, but the odometer still works correctly, as is the case in my car currently. If this is what is happening to your car, you may have to find another cluster (like the nice one I have- hint, hint) and replace it. If the odometer and speedometer are the only things not working, the sender (in the diff) is most likely bad. | | | 04-21-2006, 07:14 PM | #6 | Junior Member Join Date: Apr 2006 Location: Fort Worth Posts: 14 | cool, im at work right now and will look at it later, but as like the rest of my car, it also has the M3 cluster, but everything else is working properly just not the speedo and the odometer/trip.... thanks for the help so far, ill let ya know what it is when i get a chance to look at it | | | 04-21-2006, 08:35 PM | #7 | Senior Member Join Date: Feb 2006 Location: Montclair, VA Posts: 338 | I HAVE my old truck had this EXACT problem went crazy for 2 weeks, then just stopped working.. it's either the cable (i'm not sure if they have one), or the cluster.. see J!M's post __________________ [SIZE="1"]Current: Cooler, Intake, Headers, Valves, MAF, Exhaust, HIDS (white/blue), 17" ASA tuner with low-pros, tint, dvd/audio, I stand strong; Life's a slinky. | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | |
