Default Driver side door lock, keyless entry...

Been working on my 1995 TI and have run across a problem so far that I have yet get a solution from even from mechanics. The driver side door lock will only open with the key. Once the lock is open the handle works on both sides, but the handle will not bring the lock up from the inside, the keyless entry has the same effect. Only the key works. Any solutions/ideas here are great...

I have a 1996 318TI Sports Coupe that is having the same problem. The one thing I have noticed is that it only malfuntions in the morning when I first go to get in the car. The rest of the day it works just fine.

The rod that connects the mechanisms runs through a foam pad to prevent rattling, it unfortunately jams the mechanism if it gets real dirty or oily...

Thats what I found on my 95 anyway...

I did mine a couple of years ago. It is a PITA... Saved this link I found then;

It is for a regular e36 coupe door, but the procedure is basically the same...
