It was time to replace my ti. Sadly, it was accident damaged (and improperly repaired) before I bought it. Thus, it has had problems since day one. The passenger door never worked right (and is all but inoperable now) and because they even bothered to paint, let alone, undercoat the floor where they did the welding, the passengerside is now missing it's floor due to rot.
So I picked up this 97 from CL. It is just a shell, doors, hatch, hood, bumpers, lights, and rear suspension. kid I bought it from killed the engine and parted the car out.
So this is what a $150 318ti looks like:
I got her home today. Learned that lesson that using a towtruck would have been cheaper, as renting a pickup and a 12x8 utility trailer from Uhaul cost me just over $300 once you factored in the gas I had to put into the truck.
that's over $2 a mile when you work it out as I only drove 128 miles.
Here she is on the trailer in all her dirty and stripped glory:
Once I get my saab out of the garage (replacing the transmission) this Ti will go in so I can get the body stripped down and prepped for a nice coat of Calypso. Then I can start transferring the good bits of my 96 ti into the 97
