I noticed they have front calipers for $100, they are made by ATE. My car is going into the shop tomorrow to get worked on and my caliper has already been rebuilt and if it's not under warranty still I'll be installing a new one myself. http://www.pelicanparts.com/cgi-bin/...FILTER_TOOL=ON __________________ 98 Avus Blue 318 ti Active clear outs all around, stealth turning signals, blue led interior lights, 35% tinted windows,K&N air filter, 12" Kenwood Sub, MTX Thunder Amp,Alpine cd changer, Leatherz Armrest,ACS Pedals/Handbrake/FloorMats & Vitesse Tuning Carbon Fiber B-Pillars/CF Spark Plug Cover, New 16" MSW Typer 14 Rims on Goodyear Triple Treds www.myspace.com/avusblueti | | | 04-09-2007, 05:03 PM | #2 | Senior Member Join Date: Jul 2004 Location: Florida Posts: 1,595 | If your looking for calipers, I have my stock ones lying in a box with about 60k miles on them. $50 shipped. | | | 04-09-2007, 05:06 PM | #3 | TRETEN IRGENDEINES ESELS Join Date: Aug 2004 Location: Rhode Island Posts: 3,687 | Quote: Originally Posted by Viper3812 If your looking for calipers, I have my stock ones lying in a box with about 60k miles on them. $50 shipped. | I'll think about it, I've had them rebuilt and they lasted not even a year so I'm thinking about getting new ones so I don't have to deal with this again for awhile. __________________ 98 Avus Blue 318 ti Active clear outs all around, stealth turning signals, blue led interior lights, 35% tinted windows,K&N air filter, 12" Kenwood Sub, MTX Thunder Amp,Alpine cd changer, Leatherz Armrest,ACS Pedals/Handbrake/FloorMats & Vitesse Tuning Carbon Fiber B-Pillars/CF Spark Plug Cover, New 16" MSW Typer 14 Rims on Goodyear Triple Treds www.myspace.com/avusblueti | | | 04-09-2007, 05:12 PM | #4 | Senior Member Join Date: Jul 2004 Location: Florida Posts: 1,595 | Quote: Originally Posted by Tyler I'll think about it, I've had them rebuilt and they lasted not even a year so I'm thinking about getting new ones so I don't have to deal with this again for awhile. | No prob, just let me know. | | | 04-09-2007, 06:06 PM | #5 | Senior Member Join Date: Jun 2006 Location: Boston, MA Posts: 1,152 | Had good experience with Pelican parts before. ATE makes good brake products. Did you think about the brake upgrade? It might be worthwhile. If you still plan to sell the car soon then I guess minimal cost repairs are best. | | | 04-09-2007, 06:22 PM | #6 | TRETEN IRGENDEINES ESELS Join Date: Aug 2004 Location: Rhode Island Posts: 3,687 | Quote: Originally Posted by StealthBimmer Had good experience with Pelican parts before. If i buy used ones i'm sure i'll have to replace them within a year and $100 bucks for a new one is a decent price. Also buying front pads and new rotors, the rears i've never changed and are the original for all i know and there is still about 45% of the pads left. __________________ 98 Avus Blue 318 ti Active clear outs all around, stealth turning signals, blue led interior lights, 35% tinted windows,K&N air filter, 12" Kenwood Sub, MTX Thunder Amp,Alpine cd changer, Leatherz Armrest,ACS Pedals/Handbrake/FloorMats & Vitesse Tuning Carbon Fiber B-Pillars/CF Spark Plug Cover, New 16" MSW Typer 14 Rims on Goodyear Triple Treds www.myspace.com/avusblueti | | | 04-10-2007, 12:33 AM | #11 | Senior Member Join Date: Jul 2004 Location: Florida Posts: 1,595 | Quote: Originally Posted by 1996Bmw318TI Ill sell you mine if your looking for calipers. They work absolutely great and I see no rust or deterioration after about 8 months. I don't remember exactly what they asked for, but I believe it was close to ~300$. Oh, they also emit very low brake dust if you are concerned with that as I was. I wipe off my rims maybe once a week and it takes ~10 minutes. In regard to size, i have 17.3" rims at the moment, but had 14" when they were installed. Only wish i remembered the brand. __________________ now when i hit that switch, I'M BOUNCIN. | | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | |
