Does anyone know if there are any modifications to the engine? Or are the suspension and brakes the only performance upgrades? Thanks again. | | | 03-06-2008, 11:29 PM | #4 | Senior Member Join Date: Sep 2007 Location: asdfasdf Posts: 10,002 | yeah the engine in a sport or clubsport is the same as the engine in an active or base, the only difference in engines is in the model year, 98s have M44s | | | 03-07-2008, 03:36 AM | #5 | Senior Member Join Date: Aug 2004 Location: state college, pa Posts: 3,431 | The brakes are actually the same across all models of the same production date. Suspension-wise you get shorter springs, different struts, and larger sway bars. Sport models also come with 16" alloys. __________________ I scream, you scream, we all scream for ZOMBIES. | | | 03-07-2008, 05:01 AM | #6 | Senior Member Join Date: Jan 2008 Location: Milwaukee Posts: 189 | One huge issue for me is that my active model doesnt look as sweet without front and rear m bumper covers. That is one upgrade | | | 03-07-2008, 06:19 AM | #7 | Senior Member Join Date: Jan 2005 Location: Fort Collins, CO Posts: 1,305 | the interior was the biggest part for me. the sport seats make such a difference | | | 03-07-2008, 09:32 PM | #8 | Senior Member Join Date: Oct 2007 Location: Eugene Oregon Posts: 6,182 | agreed the seats are a huge improvement! and by vented brakes i mean vented rotors. and yes they are different rotors on different years. __________________ -Josh Sold-1995 318ti, Club Sport, Hellrot Sold-1996 318ti, Active Model, Boston Green Current- 1995 318ti, sport model, schwartz | | | 03-08-2008, 11:31 PM | #9 | Junior Member Join Date: Mar 2008 Location: U.S. Posts: 26 | Thanks for all the info so far. I also heard that the transmission was shorter in the m-tech, so i'm wondering what its 0-60 time is, i know the base models do it in 9.9 seconds, so with the sport tranny the m-tech should be a bit quicker. So let me know if you guys know anything about this.
