m44 head on m42 bottom end

I have a 1995 318ti with ticking comming from top end, was told it was cam bearings staring to go bad or mabey something worse. Insted of rebuilding the head a freind gave me a m44 head out of a 97 ti . The only differences I see is the cam sensor, some kind of oil suLeasepply tube in the valve cover. Will this m44 head work on my 42 lower end. Please any and allinfo will help. Thank you. Russia's
