I wanted to upgrade my rear tweeters with some Jl Audio XR's. This is what I did:
1) Remove speaker panel and separate the tweeter housing from the rear speaker panel.
2) Inside the speaker housing you'll see the tweeter mount. Pull out the tweeter mount.
3) Place the stock tweeter mount on a clamp and dremel out the stock speaker around its edge.
Ignore The Revo in the back ground with the hand painted bodies and the OS max 18 Tm engine with custom... woops sorry, that’s for another forum.. I got carried away
4) After your done clean the tweeter mount. It will look like this.
5) Now insert the tweeter. I used 2 part clear epoxy (I bought it at local hardware store) to glue in the tweeter. I placed the glue on the back side so you wouldn't see it.
6) Let it dry for about a day. Slide the tweeter mount back into the tweeter housing... It fits perfect.
7)You're done!!! Put everything back. The epoxy that I used smelled really bad, so I let the tweeters mount sit in my garage for about 2 days, before I finally placed it in my car.
