Headlight washers installed

Just finished installing the Euro headlight washers. It was pretty straight forward. When the pump presurizes the system, the nozzles telecope forward. Steven has them on his 328ti, installed by the previous owner.

Maybe I'll fix mine. I think the hoses are loose.

Do you have all the part #'s to do the install? I wanna do that modification.

That would be a nice mod to do. Just today i had to wash my headlights cause they were so filthy.

You'll need to remove the front bumper and nose panel. You should have the 5L washer tank which has a provision for the washer pump.

BTW,

anybody know why my bumper alighment on the passenger side wheel well is off. It was there before I removed the bumper, but it seems more noticeable after reinstalling the bumper. I figure that the bumper shock is extended more on that side, for what ever reason. The funny thing is that my 318ti has the same thing. Neither of my cars have been in accidents, so it would seem they came from the factory that way? Hard to believe. I tired using a rubber mallet to beat the socj back, but it's pretty stiff. I didn't move. Anyone have any ideas? (please see pics)

Good work man! This is one mod I actually want to do. I get so much road salt here in MN, I'm constantly cleaning my lights.

According to that link the kit can cost over $600.00. Why must you buy new bumper panels? Can't you drill into the ones you have? How can this be done cost effectively?

Those are retail prices. I got the kit for $240 a while back. The pump was $48. It took me a while to get around to installing it. I did try drilling the holes. I had a special drill bit and all, but the instructions as to measurements were a bit vague, so I ended up measuring from the wrong point of reference (it's still not clear in the instructions). The new panel has the cutouts there and for a total of $160 for nose panel and paint, it's not an unreasonable cost. Factor in the fact that you could probabaly sell you old panel for a few bucks, it's even better. Tha's how I would have done it in retrospect.

So the kit doesn't include the nose panel? Couldn't I get a nose panel from a different E36 in the junk yard and get it painted? For that matter, couldn't I get the whole thing from the junk yard?

Actually, that pic is for general reference. It looks like an old 5 series. It doesn't clean the fogs. There are two nozzles on each side pointing to each light (hi/lo beams).

Like Cali-ti said, in europe you could probably find the parts of a junked car, but not likely here in the staes. If I remember correctly, you get stuff from germany once in a while. If you have contacts, it might be possible, but don't forget about the wiring. There is a special harness that once installed, is not easily removed. This is like all the other mods I have done. There are harnesses that are critical and to remove them would be very time consuming, if not impossible without knowing what wires are the ones you need. By the time you ship the stuff from Europe, it ain't gonna be cheap anymore. The nose panel is a relatively big and fragile piece. It's just easier to get it here, IMHO.
