Default WTB: m42/m44 Crank Pulley

I am looking for an M42/M44 crank pulley. I had bent mine trying to draw it onto the crank using the bolts.

I would prefer the M44 pulley as it seems lighter.

If someone has an underdrive pulley I would also be interested.

Thank you

I have one, it looks like the leftmost one here correct? 6-bolt holes and "teeth" on one side of it? I've been using it as a cupholder at work

$18 shipped fair? It's clean, and off a 95' M42 with 6 ribs for the serpentine belt.

That would be the one. How many miles were on the m42 that you pulled it from?

I believe it had around 120,000. The engine threw a rod, so it got yanked and replaced with a 6cyl.

It looks like it's in perfect shape to me, no signs of rubber fatigue for the vibration damper portion. I can email you a picture or two if you need, just send me your address.

I am hoping to find an m44 pulley, but will definitely pick yours up if I can't source one soon. It sounds like it should be in good shape.

Sounds good, just shoot me an email. It'll keep being a coaster until I hear otherwise.

Earl, I spotted a M44 at the yards this weekend. No idea on the mileage, it looked like an early 1996. If you want, I'll pull the balancer for you.

Cost would be whatever I pay for it plus shipping. I suspect it will be $20 +/- plus shipping. Let me know.

Rich

That would be awesome=) As long as the rubber looks to be in good shape and the pulley doesn't look bent or damaged it should be good.

This one right?

Earl,

I imagine the pulley is like this one on my spare motor (due to be rebuilt). Question: On the M42/M44, to I need to pull the crank bolt as well as the three holding bolts to remove the balancer?

I didn't have to on my M62tu, I just had to pull the six bolts and use a puller to pull it off. Just wondering if I have to bring a breaker bar to the yard.

-----------------------------------------------------------------

OK, after looking at it a little more, I can see I'll need to pull the crank bolt. No worries, I'll bring a 3/4" breaker bar with me this next weekend.

The crank bolt is the only one that needs to come off.

It also only uses three bolts to hold the A/C pulley on, unlike the m42. The m42 pulley has six bolts that hold the pulley to a flange that attaches to the crank. The m44 pulley has the flange cast into it so it is one piece.

No worries, I finished the rest of my coffee and figured it out. How soon do you need the balancer? Did you need the A/C pulley too?

No A/C for me=) Car won't be on the road for at least another month or two at the earliest, so anytime within then is okay. I have my build thread on here if you care to waste time looking at it haha
