Default Knocks in the rear hatch area on rough road surfaces

It's a little annoying running on bumps on the road and there is knocking in the rear hatch area.
I checked the following.
1. Rear hatch glass is fine and still glued to the frame.
2. Adjusted the hatch lower latch but did not help
3. Remove the rear parcel shelf. knocking still there
4. New rear shocks, shock mounts are fine no cracks
5. New front and rear suspension components
6. Not coming from folding rear seat backs
7. Removed all items in the trunk and still knocks.
Anything else to check?

Default

I went to lunch and looked at the hatch area for adjustments and noticed there were two adjustable rubber stops on each side of the hatch very close to the left and right edges. I did not know that this rubber stop can be screwed in clockwise and screwed out counter clockwise.
I gave each rubber stop one turn CCW and surprise ! No more knocking noises in the hatch.

I guess the upper part of the hatch latch is loose on the lower catch and caused it to knock on bumpy roads. The rubber stopper held the hatch tight against the latch.
