Question Business Radio - diversity ?

Can anyone tell me what the little "aerial diversity" socket on the back of BMW Business radios is for ? Is it really needed because aftermarket radios don't have it !

Many thanks - Jim Butterworth

That goes to the antenna and pre-amplifier built into and mounted near the rear wind screen. (I hope I that's the correct term.)

Thanks - so it should be a +12volt supply for the pre-amplifier ? I must check.

Doesn't it also carry the RF signal from the antenna preamplifier?

I would have thought the signal would go into the aerial socket - but it is possible for the supply and the aerial to be on the same plug. Will pull the radio out and check when it eventually stops raining here in the UK!!!
