I know you guys are against lambo doors, personally, I think they are cool, but check this out - I know it's not a 318ti, but that bmw has seen significant mods and looks sooo sweet:

I was looking at his page on pelican parts: http://www.pelicanparts.com/bmw/tech...al-Touches.htm

lush motor, but id rather have seen regular doors on it.

its not that i dont like them, its more of a safety issue imo.

it doesnt look great in the first place on most cars...

its not safe.....

requires professional fitment as most aftermarket lambo kits need parts of the body to be chopped... also getting the door flush is a problem... and no mather how good it is fitted 90% of cars with them allow wind into the car at high speeds which makes you cold, its noisy, and creates drag to make you slower....

so why bother ? ? ?

why bother? because it looks good.

I did not mean to say it looks good on most cars. . .just that it looks good on that particular car. I realize getting my ti to look like that would probably cost at a minimum what I just paid for it.

I'm betting that the fitment on that car is perfect.

As for safety - what is it about lambo doors that are unsafe? I'm not being a hardass. . I just don't know.

Somewhere there's a group of photos of an actual Lambo that crashed and landed upside down. Both occupants died, possibly by burning. Yes, you can see the bodies in some of the photos. Pretty gruesome stuff. The relevant point being that if the car had "normal" doors, they might have been able to open them and escape.

I see. Not to make light of the situation. . . but having a hatchback could come in handy. .

true, some lambo doors have both swing up AND out functions, so i suppose the saftey element is covered in that respect.

just make sure u get ones that can do both

depends on how much you´re willing to blow on them though i think 318is. newer versions are including this spec just for saftey. i wouldnt have em personally even if they were gold plated.

100 quid on my next car is gold, and has flappy doors

:-( . . . lol, I don't mind being laughed at. I really like the total look of that e46 in the picture I posted. I've already decided that I'm not going to spend more than $200 in mods on my car unless I'm going to keep it until it dies. That being said, if I'm ever going for lambo doors. . . I'd want my car to look like the one in the pic.

LoL, I just thought of something. If you flipped that e46, assuming it was a hatchback, that spoiler would keep you from getting out.
