So thought to share before the ebay auction is over. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Super...#ht_500wt_1182 It seems as though no one has bidded on it yet as well. __________________ -Theta Chi- Float like a cadilac, sting like a BIMMER .... my socket is just too thick and won't fit in the hole! damnit! You might need the one that works for the ti, I'm not sure if it is the same as the Z3 pipe or not. Edit - Looks like it's not the same, bottom of this website shows the different part numbers. http://www.supersprintna.com/product...earch_model/52 That same site sells the ti adapter for ~$66. __________________ ~Dave~ 98 328ti Morea Grun slicktop 11 128i space gray slicktop 13 JGC WK2 Deep Cherry Search | RealOEM Last edited by spidertri; 07-09-2010 at 02:02 PM. | | | 07-09-2010, 02:51 PM | #5 | Senior Member Join Date: May 2005 Location: PA Posts: 1,906 | You think that with the adapter piece, this will fit our cars? I want to bid on this but want to make sure it will fit. Shipping on the auction came out to 80 something. Plus the adapter 66. Not sure if its worth it. __________________ | | | 07-09-2010, 03:45 PM | #6 | Senior Member Join Date: Apr 2007 Location: Elizabeth City, NC Posts: 3,877 | I don't know, that is the old single tip design that isn't sold anymore. I'm not sure if it uses the same connecting pipe as the dual tip. You can see the connector at the flange end of the exhaust on the ebay pics. __________________ ~Dave~ 98 328ti Morea Grun slicktop 11 128i space gray slicktop 13 JGC WK2 Deep Cherry Search | RealOEM | | | 07-09-2010, 04:38 PM | #7 | Senior Member Join Date: May 2007 Location: LA, Bellflower, CA Posts: 3,613 | uh, have you ever heard of just cutting it and having it weld up to your stock pipes if it does fit??? just a thought.... __________________ -Theta Chi- Float like a cadilac, sting like a BIMMER .... my socket is just too thick and won't fit in the hole! damnit! It's one piece from the flange after the cat all the way back, including a resonator. Based on my memory of what mine looks like, this one's going to need some massaging to fit properly. It's interesting that it doesn't have the resonator built in. That might make it a little louder than the actual ti part. I called supersprintNA yesterday and they told me that all 1.9l catbacks (old style or new) are all the same. He said I may need the adpater... I was very back and forth on "buying it now" as I didn't know how many people would be bidding on this. I know most people wait till theres only a few minutes left. I happen to see that someone placed a bid and decided I didn't want to lose it, so I bought it now. It must have been right before you logged in family, sorry. I am excited to put this on and will post some pics of what was needed to make this work, incase another one pops up. Thanks for sharing MARV __________________ Last edited by Platanos; 04-15-2011 at 11:31 PM. | | | 07-11-2010, 12:09 AM | #13 | Member Join Date: Jun 2010 Location: Columbia, MO Posts: 52 | I should have followed this posting more carefully, that's the same exhaust that I have on my TI. Congrats on the buy, it's a good sounding exhaust. Nice and deep. | | | 07-11-2010, 12:11 AM | #14 | Senior Member Join Date: May 2005 Location: PA Posts: 1,906 | Do you like the sound? Can you compare it to a stromung? Any pics? __________________ | | | 07-11-2010, 12:12 AM | #15 | Member Join Date: Jun 2010 Location: Columbia, MO Posts: 52 | Quote: Originally Posted by Platanos Do you like the sound? EDIT: Video is uploading to YouTube. There are a few min remaining. re-edit: The video says it cannot be uploaded to YouTube and I'm not at all sure why. It doesn't really help that the audio quality was not nearly what I would want it to be and didn't accurately represent what the exhaust sounded like. The best thing I can do for you right now is just assure you not to worry. It's a good sounding exhaust. My car isn't in excellent running condition so I can't really tell you that it sounds like the stromung but it sounds very similar. I don't think it's as loud but it is about as deep in tone.
