Did a family gathering Saturday, and my brother came in one of his toys. When we are leaving, he says, "Hey wanna drive my AC Cobra?". I had no idea he brought it to the bowling alley. He drove my 318ti , and I drove his car. Let me tell you, I had serious reservations about driving this car. First off, no power brakes or power steering, the car weighs 1700lbs and has a high compression 302 with a 4 barrel carb. It's basically a tubular frame with a fiberglass body and an engine, no frills. The footwell for the three pedals is VERY small. My right foot has a hard time squeezing in between the tranny wall and the brake pedal. These pedals are very cramped, just like his Ferarri was. Anyway, Karen and I jumped in, and took her on the road. That engine roars loud as hell, but what torque, it's a monster. We get home, and then it's on to his next latest toy, a 2007, Bentley coupe. This thing is a beast, 550 horsepower 12 cylinder twin turbo AWD. It can be driven in auto, with a slap shifter, or with paddles on the steering column. When we got out, I looked at the front rotors, they were atleast 15"s in diameter, I can check for certainty. I thought we were done for the evening, but no, he has to take out the Lambo Mercialago. Not the most comfortable car, but interesting to be inside while driving. The suicide doors are really cool, and the sound of the engine when he hits the gas is awesome. I'm sure you have seen pics of the Lambo before, but check out the Bentley to see what that car can do. He opened the hood, and you couldn't even get your hand anywhere inside the engine bay. The engine is a work or art, with the twin turbos covering the entire top of the engine. __________________ 1998 (July) 318ti, 5-spd OEM Armrest Blaupunkt Heidelberg CD50 CD Player/Compact Drive MP3 Player Diamond Audio 5.25" rear speakers Navman ICN 530 GPS BMWALARM.COM (with comfort settings) after market alarm system Magnecor 8.5mm wires M-Z3 Shifter/Momo Knob Burlwood Dashboard Stromung Exhaust X-brace Racing Dynamics Front Strut Bar Carbonio C.A.I. 17" Rial Rims Vader Seats/Heated/Lumbar Support M-tech Steering Wheel/Front Sway Bar/Front & Rear Bumper Depos/w 6500K Angel Eyes/6000K HIDs Clear Corners M3 Mirrors UUC Light Weight Flywheel/M5 Clutch/M3 Clutch Slave E28 3.46 LSD/Mcoupe Cover/E30 Flanges & Halfshafts UUC S.S. Does mortgage brokering now, or something like that. Makes alot of money, but not what I would like to do. Seems all that pawn brokering left him with alot of money, and alot of real estate. People pawn their houses all the time. The Lambo he has had for I guess 2 years. The Bentley is his daily driver, he got rid of the SLK500 or something like that. The AC Cobra isn't driven much, but I guess he has the garage space, so he keeps it filled. He just sold the 2 + 2 Ferrari that the wife never drove. She traded in the new Range Rover for a Lexus, some silly thing about the Range Rover she didn't like. Quote: Originally Posted by DustenT Me too. Various colors, numbers, wheels, etc. It was a smorgasbord of Cobras! Needless to say, I drooled a lot that weekend. He said he stalled the car a few times. The clutch stop I put in gives little room for clutch engagement. The AC Cobra had like 10" of motion. Actually, the AC Cobra is a replica, but it is designed by some racing company. Quote: Originally Posted by 1996 328ti I was thinking the other way around.
