Hi guys, I live in Japan and want to check if my car is a European spec or USA spec car. Reason for this is that I want to get a Shark Injector and the website says it won't work on a Euro spec car. I have no idea if BMW Japan import from Europe or the USA. I'm guessing USA, but not sure. Anyone know if I can check somewhere with my VIN? Or will my engine computer be obviously different depending on where its from? Heard Euro is Bosch and USA is Siemens or vice versa. Thanks in advance. Do you have an OBD-II port under the dash? I don't think all regions have that. __________________ ...steven BMW CCA #146825 1996 BMW 328ti • 2003 MINI Cooper S • 2016 M235i www.bmwcca.org | | | 12-22-2012, 04:34 AM | #5 | NOBODY F's with the Jesus Join Date: Oct 2006 Location: Ventura California Posts: 7,824 | US spec cars should have came with plastic headlights and DOT approved windshields. Also try looking at the decals in the driver's door jamb and under the hood. You should see US emissions data and information if it's a US spec car. | | | 12-22-2012, 06:01 AM | #6 | Member Join Date: Dec 2012 Location: Nagoya, Japan Posts: 39 | Cool thanks guys. I'll go check that out. Gonna be pissed if it's euro spec as I don't think the Shark Injector's work on Euro cars! There is no shark for M44 motors. __________________ ...steven BMW CCA #146825 1996 BMW 328ti • 2003 MINI Cooper S • 2016 M235i www.bmwcca.org | | | 12-22-2012, 07:03 PM | #9 | Member Join Date: Dec 2012 Location: Nagoya, Japan Posts: 39 | I have a ****ty M44 318ti but my buddy from camp has a Z Coupe 2.8 Trying to flash that so I can fit an M50 inlet and M3 manifold | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | |
