You can either make a custom panel to replace the ash tray or go with A pillar mounts.

I was contemplating this awhile back. Not many options. Like Steve said, really only two choices for placement.

I've played around with various mounting locations and A pillar is the best for viewing. That said, if you aren't running forced induction there isn't a need to view them all the time so the A pillar looks a little ricey.

you could always remove your airvents in the middle and try to fab some fiberglass in there... just a thought

I am actually getting an aluminum piece fabbed up for me this week. I will take pics when I get it back. I won't be installing it until winter. I am just going with the ashtray replacement. It seems the easiest and cleanest.

You can look here for an idea.

The problem with this is you can't see the right gauge when in 3rd or 5th.

LOL, that is where I pulled and printed the template from. I was driving earlier thinking the same thing about 3rd and 5th, but i think that it is still worth it to have some vital info like that available to glance at.

You can kind of see my setup in this old picture. I used the unofficial BMW writeup as a guide. I don't have a problem seeing the gages, but it depends a lot on your seating position and how tall you are.
