Default will all e36 headlight fit 318ti

After searching and finding only one thread, with one agreeing response,
my question is: Are all e36 headlights compatible with 318ti?
Are corners more specific? 2door, 4door, hatchback?
Thanks.

No... Headlights and corners are specific to the sedan and ti. Coupe lights won't work.

If I read correctly:

4 door e36 sedan headlights AND corners WILL FIT 318ti,
2 door e36 coupe headlights and corners will not fit.

right?

I thought the headlights were the same and the corners were for the 4 door.

Summary:

Head lights: all e36 are the same

Corners: 4door/sedan fit the ti

Tail lights: 318ti specific

Side markers: all e36 are the same

Tail lights and side markers aren't mentioned, but why the hell not throw it in there while we are on the topic of exterior lighting.

correction :

COMPACT LIGHTS ARE DIFFERENT

you can use a bosch, zkw, or depo unit on the compact BUT YOU WILL NEED TO WORK OUT THE WIRING !!

some sets are sold with the intention of fitment to ti´s.. Please check with the supplier BEFORE payment.

I get many compact owners ringing me distressed that their lights dont fit, and what is wrong..

so, for the penultimate rundown, listen up..

Compact (Hella) lights fit only compacts

Bosch / ZKW / depo or comparible fit ALL models, (Compacts need extra wiring to fit)

Front indicator / markers = SEDAN / TOURING / COMPACT... do not use COUPE or CAB as they do not fit

Side markers are year definative. Models BEFORE 9/96 use the larger "black with plastic lense" type. Models after use the smaller "all plastic" versions.

Rear lights are Ti / Compact only .

there is no such thing as "318ti" specific, as the compact range spans from 316 to 323
