It has passed inspection by CA State CARB referee & has been registered & insured in CA since. The modifications include: M52 2.8L aluminum block engine, trans & harness (under 1200 mi), LSD from 1999 M Coupe (under 30000 mi), European M3 brakes, Koni d/a coil-overs, H&R springs & sway bars, aligned & corner-weighted, AC Schnitzer shifter, battery moved to hatch, Super Sprint exhaust, Konig leather seats, BBS RK wheels & much more than I have room to list here! Car has been in storage since built & will need a complete going through to be made road worthy again. Many new old stock parts are included with sale. I have all receipts for parts & labor. $12,500 OBO | | | 10-10-2022, 11:57 PM | #2 | Senior Member Join Date: Mar 2008 Location: San Diego Posts: 177 | Similar to mine (but nicer) I am still goofing with BAR certification. Yours might be a good listing for Bring A Trailer. Did you use a dual exhaust or a single like on a 323? __________________ 98 318ti MSport M52, 88 M3, 97 M3/4 | | | 10-11-2022, 12:27 AM | #3 | Junior Member Join Date: Jan 2005 Location: SF Bay Area, CA Posts: 5 | Mine sold the first day listed on BWW CCA. Eric, a great guy & a total E36 enthusiast couldn't believe the mileage & condition. I'm so happy it went to a real car guy. The referee at BAR gave me a real hard tine about the exhaust being wrong until he looked at the exploded view of the Z3 2.8 system. In '97 it was a 2-tube down pipe (2 cats) into a single pipe to a rear mounted muffler with twin outlets. The best thing about using the aluminum 6 is that it weighed just 40 lbs. more than the 4 cyl. & the car didn't plow at all. | | | 10-13-2022, 04:48 PM | #4 | Junior Member Join Date: Oct 2022 Location: Raleigh Posts: 1 | Can you PM me, I am interested but don't have enough posts yet to PM. | | | 10-13-2022, 05:14 PM | #5 | Junior Member Join Date: Jan 2005 Location: SF Bay Area, CA Posts: 5 | Sorry, I don't have enough either. The car is sold though. | | | 11-02-2022, 11:55 PM | #6 | Senior Member Join Date: Jun 2008 Location: The Atomic City Posts: 316 | Cool Ti, congratulations on your sale! __________________ | | | 11-03-2022, 12:33 AM | #7 | Junior Member Join Date: Jan 2005 Location: SF Bay Area, CA Posts: 5 | Thanks a lot! | | | 05-31-2023, 01:40 AM | #8 | Junior Member Join Date: Jul 2008 Location: WA Posts: 14 | | | | 07-10-2023, 06:06 PM | #10 | Senior Member Join Date: Mar 2008 Location: San Diego Posts: 177 | Should do well. Super clean. Almost too clean to drive! Even though mine is the iron block M52, the one plus is it is a great driver. Either way it is good motivation to get mine through BAR and list it for sale! __________________ 98 318ti MSport M52, 88 M3, 97 M3/4 | | | 07-17-2023, 08:23 PM | #11 | Junior Member Join Date: Jul 2008 Location: WA Posts: 14 | Sold for $31,785 with buyer's premium. | | | 07-17-2023, 08:39 PM | #12 | Senior Member Join Date: Mar 2008 Location: San Diego Posts: 177 | Super clean. Unbelievable condition like new or better. Question for Greg_328ti: Why no inner fenders on the build? That is a crapload of $ left on the table. I feel bad for Greg_328ti... I have had odd experiences with BAT buying and selling but they are sort of the best game in town so just have to deal with them I guess. I sold my 1988 M3 on BAT with a $65k reserve and it only bid to $62k. They sold the car at $62k and sent me a check for $3k so that worked out OK but you can't choose the start date so it will run when they start it. Unfortunately, The war in Ukraine started two days before my auction ran and a similar car sold for $74k the week before mine... I still think it may have sold close to the peak. __________________ 98 318ti MSport M52, 88 M3, 97 M3/4 | | | 07-18-2023, 02:28 AM | #13 | Junior Member Join Date: Jul 2008 Location: WA Posts: 14 | Auction comments said front tower bar was removed and sold prior to auction. Apparently they go for big money see eBay $3,500 https://www.ebay.com/str/msportparts I hope Greg is on a beach somewhere; not concerned with any of this. | | | 08-02-2023, 06:33 PM | #14 | Junior Member Join Date: Aug 2023 Location: Evergreen,Co.
