Default LED Tail Lights

Ok, so I have basically decided upon the headlights that I am soon getting. And I definitly want to change the tail lights of my TI. I have been looking around a hell of alot, and came across these LED Tail lights.

I just want to know what you guys think of these tail lights, I kinda like them. But i want to know if any of you have had experience with them or have heard of them at all....

I am positive you know your stuff, but I was just at work today and looking around online and found this site with the same tailights...
http://www.autobodypartsbuy.com/cgi-...MW&model=318TI
and it says that it fits the 1995 318TI.
Is that correct? or is it just some more bs sites put up?

Well if you compare a 1998 328is to the above link, both have the same part number.
The two are not interchangable.

Here's one, http://www.matrixracing.com/BI1353Details.htm
that looks pretty good to me. though Matrixracing usually sells cheap parts from Taiwan these appear to be from Germany, according to the website.

Question LED Tail Lights - Revisited

Hey 318ti'ers!

Has anybody ever tried modding their lenses on their taillights so that they're using LED lights instead? I've seen somebody do this before for their CRX (yes...i'm an ex-CRX driver ).

http://www.copperpenney.com/crxsite/...ke_lights.html

I don't want the exotic 'circle' look necessarily...just something that looks more up-to-date with today's Beemers...I was thinking of using the crystal clear/red lens and mod the internals...

Something similar looking to:
http://www.eurostarus.com/bmw.html (2nd one down)...but fits the ti! what do you guys think? motorwerk

Sorry guys, I have tried this and all the BMW's tail lights has reversed polatity and will drain your battery, tried all ways but di not get it to work. If you find a LED bulb that has no polarity it might work.

You sure about that? LEDs just don't work if they're wired backwards. There's no reason it would drain the battery.

And the fix would just be to swap leads.

You can also burn them out if you have chosen the right current limiting resistor.

That could be a bit of a challenge if the LEDs are socketed: you might then have to make up a special lamp carrier or chop up the tail light traces.

Are there any socketed, automotive, LED lamps that will light off either polarity, that is, AC?
