Default After the car warms up it will not accelerate

OK...I have a 95 and just the other day I was on the interstate and was cruising along and when I mashed down the gas the thing started to vibrate something awful! I let up and it ran smooth, pushed the gas, samething...like it's runing on two cylinders! I was able to get home and then let it cool down. I started it back up and drove a little ways...all was fine... then after it got some heat in it it started doing it again. Any clues???

Is your car a manual or an automatic?

No there sure arn't I've counted 5 here in my area 2 of witch are mine, I just got a nice hellrot red 97 sport a few weeks ago moved the superchager and things over just to have a lifter or something making a loud ticking noise under the hood and the other needs new timing chain guides. Nothing is better then owning 2 cars just for them both to sound like crap

I am not sure what the problem may be but is your car shifting gears? or is it staying in low gears?

Replace the fuel filter and that might save your fuel pump.
If any problem after changeing that, check fuel pressure.

When I got home yesterday I checked the codes per the instructions I found on this site. I received the code 1286....not in the list!!! FRICK!! Went online and found the code and it is for the knock sensor. Makes sense now, the car is getting a signal that the engine is knocking and it is retarding the timing when I put a load on the engine. Now, what 7 kinds of h*ll is it going to be to get to the knock sensors??

I recently replaced my knock sensors when I damaged them during coolant refresh upgrade. This problem caused a power loss in the high band during shifting.
