Can I use DME from auto with my manual?

I have a 98 sport manual with possible DME problem.

I found a member with a good DME, but the part comes from a 98 auto.

I searched realOEM but there are just so many part numbers for the DME that are very confusing.

Does anyone know for sure if the DME are interchangeable between auto and manual?

Yes, the engine will run, but you will have a CEL. Another member in California was not able to pass CA vehicle testing until he had his DME reprogrammed to clear the CEL codes.

My problem has been resolved!!

It was my catalytic converter that was constipated.
