I found this 97 318ti in the NY area. It has 125k and is offered for 4200. One question is that the rear has a M3 emblem, but isn't that the high performance version. The carfax report looks good but at this mileage I figure the major work is going to be needed. The Kelly Blue book list prices closer to 3000 but most of the sales I see are over 4000 for a good condition model. Any help would be appreciated. Free dinner for anyone who would come look at it with me some day soon. The car is in Westchester. 1997 BMW 318TI VIN: WBACG732XVAS97646 HATCHBACK 2 DR 1.9L L4 MPI DOHC REAR WHEEL DRIVE Also are there any good independent performance shops in NY tristate that know this car. The previous owner did that. There really isn't any high performance ti. Base, Active, Sport and 1995 Club Sport. Only 'performance' are suspension parts on the sport and Club Sport. __________________ ...steven BMW CCA #146825 1996 BMW 328ti • 2003 MINI Cooper S • 2016 M235i www.bmwcca.org | | | 06-28-2009, 03:06 PM | #3 | Junior Member Join Date: Jun 2009 Location: New York Posts: 18 | So there should not be a M3 emblem. I have seem a couple for sale with this on the rear. Some people advertise as a 318ti with the M package. Is this is b.s. Do you think taking off the emblem will damage the paint. | | | 06-28-2009, 03:36 PM | #4 | Z3 Join Date: Jun 2003 Location: Usa Posts: 660 | Removing stickers should be doable. Sport packaged equipped Ti's did have some M badging, but not on the rear. 15" wheels - Base or Active 16" wheels - Sport Good luck with the sale. ________ Acura ARX-02a specifications Last edited by Bozola; 01-31-2011 at 04:12 PM. | | | 06-28-2009, 04:20 PM | #5 | Senior Member Join Date: Jun 2003 Location: Greenville, SC Posts: 9,356 | The 96-99 sports had ///M on the side molding, not ///M3. Dental floss will remove the badge. __________________ ...steven BMW CCA #146825 1996 BMW 328ti • 2003 MINI Cooper S • 2016 M235i www.bmwcca.org | | | 06-29-2009, 06:29 AM | #6 | Senior Member Join Date: Jun 2007 Location: aNYthing Posts: 160 | http://newyork.craigslist.org/wch/cto/1241548301.html i was looking at this car awhile ago but stuck with an auto... i wish i knew more about cars because i'm located in the 914.. good luck. __________________ for sale ~ '95 helrot.. I think he wants less than that. Send him a PM. He's in Maryland and his car has 150k on it. I believe it's a sport model. | | | 06-29-2009, 07:30 PM | #11 | Senior Member Join Date: Aug 2006 Location: Central NJ Posts: 2,440 | Oh, PS. Did TheMightyQuinn list his car here, or am I blind Thanks | | | 06-30-2009, 01:39 PM | #14 | Senior Member Join Date: Aug 2006 Location: Central NJ Posts: 2,440 | Check out this thread: http://www.318ti.org/forum/showthread.php?t=27116 He wants to sell his to buy that. Sport package has an M3 front bumper, M3 rear bumper (but slightly different for fitting reasons), thicker trim around the side, thicker sway bars, stiffer springs and tighter shocks. It also has fog lights. | | | 06-30-2009, 05:22 PM | #15 | Senior Member Join Date: Sep 2007 Location: asdfasdf Posts: 10,002 | it also has a different interior, black leather with cloth inserts and bigger bolsters on the seats in 95 the sport package just came with the suspension and interior upgrades though | | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | |
