Saw the following on Ebay and was thinking about calling shenanigans on it but I know that I haven't researched everything about the ti, but this guy is claiming that his ti is a rare M3 model, 1 of only 300 made! So I wanted to check my facts with some of you that are more knowledgeable, especially since this is the only M3 I have seen with a 4 cylinder (other than the E30's). So I am guessing that this guy doesn't know that it is a ti sport or is just trying to get rid of it quick. Opinions? | | | 03-29-2009, 09:44 AM | #2 | Senior Member Join Date: Sep 2008 Location: Central Florida Posts: 678 | you didn't post a link to the add but.... It is like most sellers on eBay or anywhere else calling things what they aren't to sucker people into it!... If it is a 95' Clubsport it is by no means an M3 Clubsport since that was never ever made!... __________________ 2LT Rodriguez CA ARNG TURBO 96' Sport, Alaska Blue, Auto Custom JohnBoy Turbo, Midnight-Tunning Software, HKS BOV, e-Pod Gauge Pod, BavAuto Springs, Bilstein Sport, e30 3.73 LSD, Depo P36, Apexcone 55w HID, OEM Spoiler, M3 Lip, M3 Mesh Grill, Crossdrilled Rear Rotors, M3 Front Brakes, Sparco 3 point Harness, Euro M3 Wheel, K&N cone, Clear Corner/Sides/Tails, M3 Center Console & Arm-rest, M3 Red Cluster Needles, M3 Mirrors & Side Skirts, RD Exhaust, DS-1 wheels!... | | | 03-29-2009, 12:47 PM | #3 | Senior Member Join Date: Oct 2007 Location: Virginia Posts: 242 | Yeah, I forgot that. Here it is: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/95-31...3A1|240%3A1318 I did do some research and found that BMW did make an M3 Compact but IIRC it never made it to the States. But it of course was a six cylinder, something that this "M3 318ti" is missing by about two cylinders. | | | 03-29-2009, 12:57 PM | #4 | Senior Member Join Date: Jun 2003 Location: Greenville, SC Posts: 9,356 | Quote: Originally Posted by bimmern00b I did do some research and found that BMW did make an M3 Compact but IIRC it never made it to the States. I read it in European Car mag about a decade ago. they only made one (or a few), I think, to test it out - & deemed it 'too tail happy' - loose in the back due to the power, I'm guessing. but yeah, 'they' were made... the one from the add isn't it! LOL P.S. & it ain;t wrth 12K - thats for sure. Quote: Originally Posted by 1996 328ti They did? I've never heard or seen one. | __________________ SOLD!SOLD!SOLD!SOLD!SOLD!SOLD!SOLD!SOLD! I am also glad to see that you chose to become a member of our community. The members (with few exceptions) here are all dedicated to creating a knowledge base of immense proportions, and a family of ti lovers. You have made it clear that you know what you bought and what condition it is in. Fine. You also believe that the previous transactions were less than perfect. It's your opinion, and you're entitled to it. But, to come on the board and badmouth a previous owner, with whom you had no direct dealing with, and to insinuate that he was deceitful, reeks of sour grapes. Josh has explained what transpired between him and "A", the story that was not told to you. Whether you want to believe that or not, is again up to you. I believe what Josh described. At this point, I would hope that we can move on from this topic and on to subjects that will add to the discussion of how we improve, modify, and restore our cars for the benefit of all ti owners/members. __________________ James 95 active w/leather interior and sport interior conversion, Vaders, full M-Tech exterior conversion. What took place between him and the previous owner of your car is NONE OF YOUR BUSINESS. Just as Jay's family affairs and finances ARE NONE OF YOUR BUSINESS. It would appear that you have some sort of beef with Josh simply because of what one other guy told you. Keep in mind that there's two sides to every coin and I'm sure I don't need to say it again, but, IT'S NONE OF YOUR BUSINESS! As for "people complaining" here, well take a look in the mirror. 5 of your whopping 10 posts here have been directed negatively towards one of our very well respected senior members. If your only intention is to come here to smear someone's name around and bring drama to the otherwise peaceful community, please go elsewhere. Perhaps the BF.c e36 forum would better suit your interests. | | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | |
