Not impossible. . . what I've not been able to top is 140mph. I never had enough space on the road to do it + I'm not sure the car had enough HP. But, that was with my stock diff. With my 3.73 LSD, I can pull until 7k rpms (I'm still floored by how much power I still have in 5th) but my top speed is reduced now to around 110mph. So, that brings up the question. . . what is your final drive ratio? Stock? Higher? Lower?

Speedometers are not completely accurate at that speed. Rotational forces can cause the tire to "expand" which will throw off speedo readings as well as having non-stock sized tires can cause your speedometer to be wrong.

I've hit 120 before a few times. My governor steps in and stops me everytime. i need to get a chip but i only see the car going 130 after that. I dont think it could get 140 without redlining or something else maybe going wrong. I wouldnt test my engine. i know she is not old but man 140 could be too much for the engine. o and my friend one time said she was hitting 120 but i pulled away from her like she was doing 100 or 110. so maybe the speedo isnt wrong.

i hit 130 with stock ecu, only intake and exhaust and the governor stops everything but the car was only at 5k rpm so could reach 140+ and im running 17' wheels so the stock reading is different

This has been gone over many times before, if your car is stock/ still has the governor in place you wont go over 116. At higher speeds your speedo becomes inaccurate and displays a higher speed then you are actually going. I think I remember someone saying it becomes slightly inaccurate at around 80 and gets worse after that. If your car is stock you did not actually go over 116 mph.
