Default rough start

I have a problem that is puzzling me. I have a 95 318ti that starts rough when cold and after a couple of sharp rev ups it runs fine. I thought it may be the spark plug leads but when the car is under load and after the inital start runs fine! Any ideas?

check your vacuum hoses, make sure they're sealed off.

Which one? is that the one from the rocker box cover (as this is a new hose)? Gana apologize here as new to BMW's.

By the way I have found the answer to my problem. About 2 years ago I hit a dog and lost the fluid quickly from my engine so the head is cracked and the insurance company didn't request it be checked (bummer for me as only 12 months on the work)! But found out a lot that you may want to know.

1. The garage told me the head can't be repaired. Wrong only in a few cases can the head not be repared. Mine is being repaired locally in Hamilton (Cylinder Head & Engine Services) for a good price so check thoroughly with your recon people.

2. Be carefull on who you chose to do the job. My partners uncle helped heeps as he is well skilled (Krisone Motors Ltd (03) 384 9852) but he is in the South Island (bummer). I chose local and its costing cos they don't know what to do, it should be no more the 10 hours.

3. Dont use All Euro or SD European as the they are berglars All Euro $2500 reconed 100,000 km, SD European $1900 for a recon . You can get a motor for that price.

So check and check again and get an itemised quote it will save you some money. And anyone needing a head? Micheal (03) 365 6500 sorry forgot the garage name but he is in the South Island and he has a great head for a $1000 with very low milage. (only one tho)

So best of luck to you all my car will be back on the road soon.
