the easiest place to see the difference would be in the rear of our cars. we have separate shocks and springs. coilovers have the spring right around the shock (sort of like how the struts are in the front). i guess they wouldn't HAVE to be adjustable, but i think most/all of the ones i've seen are. __________________ 1996 318ti, California package, 267k miles
