I guess I am going to have to have it scanned with a snap on scanner. I know that my tool is functioning properly, but this car is a first generation OBD2 and sometimes the codes that the DME can produce are not always up to speed with the tools, especially if it is something that usually doesn't go bad. I installed a 96 m44 into a 98 ti and had to eliminate the SAP and the fuel changeover valve that is under the car. The SAP issue was resolved with a simulator, but I am wondering if the CEL is being caused by the FCV not functioning and the DME knows it somehow. I assumed that the 96 motor controlled the fuel pressure by vacuum and did not need a second FPR that was controlled electronically. Then again it could be something totally unrelated! |
