Need to replace oil filter. __________________ ...steven BMW CCA #146825 1996 BMW 328ti • 2003 MINI Cooper S • 2016 M235i www.bmwcca.org | | | 06-07-2011, 05:56 PM | #1427 | Senior Member Join Date: Jul 2009 Location: MD/PA/DC Posts: 1,629 | Installed the recovered headliner. What a PITA. Lots of broken clips and problems reinstalling it. The sunroof switch panel won't stay in either. I think it needs some more trimming of the new material. It's much thicker than the old stuff was. __________________ No more ti. | | | 06-07-2011, 06:39 PM | #1428 | NOBODY F's with the Jesus Join Date: Oct 2006 Location: Ventura California Posts: 7,824 | Quote: Originally Posted by kuleinc I installed my x brace and put the stock brace in the rear location, It scrapes on speed bumps now. In the event of a front end collision the motor is designed to drop down. __________________ ...steven BMW CCA #146825 1996 BMW 328ti • 2003 MINI Cooper S • 2016 M235i www.bmwcca.org | | | 06-07-2011, 08:32 PM | #1431 | Senior Member Join Date: Jan 2010 Location: Oakland Posts: 187 | Plus you know, it scrapes on EVERYTHING... It's an easy installation; only requires that one small hole be drilled in the car body and the wires slipped into the door via the rectangular rubber gasket that carries all the oem wires into the door. The light I used is a small three led, rectangular piece by Blazer, five bucks or so at most any auto parts store. Throw away the chrome or white plastic "frame" and mount only the red plastic light unit itself, for a simple, oem look. Decide where you want to mount the light, then drill two holes for the plug, then attach the light from the other side of the panel using heavy duty strength hot glue. I did this mod on my Z3 about three years ago and neither the lights nor the glue have failed yet. This mod is a legitimate safety feature seen on many other cars, and it and looks anything but tacky in my opinion. | | | 06-08-2011, 06:01 AM | #1434 | Senior Member Join Date: Mar 2009 Location: Detroit Posts: 164 | | | | 06-08-2011, 06:52 AM | #1435 | Member Join Date: Oct 2009 Location: OR, USA Posts: 61 | Quote: Originally Posted by kuleinc Looked at afe intakes, anyone with a 6 cylinder ti can give input from first hand use? | Yeah I have their 3.5in one, I had to come up with my own solution for piping inside the cold air box, as the pipe they supply (with the 3.5in one at least) wont fit with my depos, and the flange on it, where it mates with the box, would cover up the TB-IAT (throttle body deicer) secondary t-stat mounting hole. Not that it really matters with that as you could just drill another hole. but if you have depos or the like you'll have to make your own pipe from maf, through cold air box wall, to filter. I just picked up some bits from ACE Hardware for a few bucks and threw the afe pipe in a box somewheres. Oh and one of the angles of the box was off by a bit but it's really easy to bend the corner a little tighter so it lines up. __________________ =F.N.B.= /!\CAUTION/!\ Low Flying Engines | | | 06-09-2011, 05:27 AM | #1436 | Senior Member Join Date: Jan 2010 Location: Oakland Posts: 187 | Got my remote and alarm working tonight! __________________ 96 Schwartz II 318ti M-Sport with M44 *SOLD* 95 Hellrot Red 318ti with S52 Swap (Mine) 94 Boston Green 325i Saloon with M50TU (Hers) 68 White VW Bus Camper (Parts Bus) 71 Pink VW Bus Westfalia (The fixer upper) | | | 06-09-2011, 05:52 AM | #1437 | Senior Member Join Date: Jul 2007 Location: norcal - 94590 Posts: 3,186 | Quote: Originally Posted by kuleinc Got my remote and alarm working tonight! | Need details!!! So nice to not have anymore rattles from the sunroof and a good headliner. __________________ No more ti. | | | 06-09-2011, 08:44 PM | #1439 | Senior Member Join Date: Jan 2010 Location: Oakland Posts: 187 | Quote: Originally Posted by wolferj Need details!!! I'm missing the trim piece on body around latch that the trunk switch hits, so I had my wife work the switch for trunk with her hand. I got it programed but it wouldn't work until I removed switch for trunk to fool computer into thinking trunk is closed, until I get the trim panel... __________________ 96 Schwartz II 318ti M-Sport with M44 *SOLD* 95 Hellrot Red 318ti with S52 Swap (Mine) 94 Boston Green 325i Saloon with M50TU (Hers) 68 White VW Bus Camper (Parts Bus) 71 Pink VW Bus Westfalia (The fixer upper) | | | 06-09-2011, 08:58 PM | #1440 | Senior Member Join Date: Mar 2008 Location: Houston TX Posts: 309 | My TI cleaned it up today wanted to show everyone how my Ti has progressed through out the years.
