Default Bucket seat installisation

hi there everyone,

Im thinking about getting a Recaro Furious bucket seat and side mounts for my Ti...

just wondering what i will have to do to fit them...will i have to drill new holes in my floor to bolt the mounts in or will they just bolt straight onto the original mounting holes??

Cheers

John

You would be very lucky if they bolted right in. You can switch from standard seats to the recarro type, at least I did in my 88 325... but if the seats are for sale, they should know what they will fit, or.... you can find out by measuring them. you want to X the measurements between the seat bolts, then measure across from front left to right, then the rear. Also measure front to rear on left and right.

Good luck

No matter what you do, do not just drill holes in the sheet metal and stick a bolt through to mount the seats. In an accident that sheet metal will rip. Seats should only be mounted using the re-inforced stock mount points. You'll probably need to get floor mount adapters if the seats you want to get use side mounts.

I tried to install seats on my truck (90 Mitsubishi mighty max) and I ended up wasting lots of time, and a tow down to a shop where I had them installed professionally.
If you are going to install them yourself, you probably should know what you are doing.
This coming from someone who likes to jump in and learn for themselves.
