Failing that, there's this: http://www.318ti.org/forum/showthread.php?t=2461 __________________ I scream, you scream, we all scream for ZOMBIES. | | | 01-23-2006, 10:13 AM | #4 | Senior Member Join Date: Nov 2005 Location: çî†ÿ øf åNgëL§, CA Posts: 5,314 | Quote: Originally Posted by aceyx | which fuse would be for the remote? | | | 01-23-2006, 10:51 AM | #5 | Senior Member Join Date: Oct 2005 Location: Watford, herts, England Posts: 805 | if its an aftermarket system, go back to whoever installed it and they should sort it out pretty cheap. __________________ '96 318ti in Montreal Blue :m-tec sideskirts,m-bootspoiler,clear corners & repeaters .m-tech side mouldings, Magnex Exhaust System, leather armrest, F-15 gear Knob, 18" Evo 2's. The fusebox is under the hood on the left (driver's) side. Pop the tabs on the front, and lift it to about 60 degrees to release the back hinge. There is a diagram of which fuses are which. Alternately, right above the driver's side kick panel, there are more fuses. __________________ I scream, you scream, we all scream for ZOMBIES. | | | 01-23-2006, 11:12 AM | #8 | Senior Member Join Date: Nov 2005 Location: çî†ÿ øf åNgëL§, CA Posts: 5,314 | Quote: Originally Posted by aceyx Don't know off the top of my head. Like should i look for alarm, or remote, get me?? Like when my windows stopped working, i checked under windows, so what do i check under for the remote? | | | 01-23-2006, 11:58 AM | #9 | Senior Member Join Date: Aug 2004 Location: state college, pa Posts: 3,431 | Um. Central locking, alarm . . . cripes mate, check all the fuses under there. They should all be intact. And generally, a single question mark will do. __________________ I scream, you scream, we all scream for ZOMBIES. | | | 01-31-2006, 10:16 PM | #10 | Senior Member Join Date: Nov 2005 Location: çî†ÿ øf åNgëL§, CA Posts: 5,314 | I fixed it, the latch from the hood was sticking way to high so it wouldnt push down the button, so i bended the latch down a little, alarm works now. I went to the bmw parts and its 100 bucks for a new remote. And to repogram is 125. So a new setup is 225 :S I just bought a new battery to replace the old one, works good now. | | | 01-31-2006, 10:25 PM | #11 | Member Join Date: Dec 2005 Location: Toledo, OH Posts: 60 | replacement remote I have also bought them on e-bay for around $20 and to program the new remote is a simple process as provided in the owner's manual. What you actually do is program the car to recognize the new remote. It involves opening the hatch, opening and closing doors, cycling the ignition and pressing the remote buttons. It is actually pretty easy and then you can have an additional or replacement remote on the cheap. I also bought a subaru wrk remote on e-bay once becuase it looked exactly the same and had the same fcc id number. I thought that it must have the same frequency, or whatever. The remote is essentiually the same Alpine remote as the oem bmw remote. It was worth the 15-20 dollar gamble, but, fyi - the subaru remote is not compatible. I know, that must be a big surprise. | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | |
