Default Central locking remote doesn't work

The ability to lock / unlock the car has been intermittent, and lately completely non-functional. The central locking unlocking works with both doors / hatch / fuel filler door when I lock either for or hatch with a key, but not the remote. Have replaced the remote battery twice - the red LED on the remote lights up, but the the doors / hatch / fuel filler do don't unlock. Anyone know of a way to ascertain if it's the remote or something in the system?

I have this. Though I am still in the "intermittent" phase.

I haven't fixed it yet, but I always assumed that it was the antennae on the control module or the control module itself. Getting a used one seems to be cheaper than getting a new remote, so that's where I was going to start.

Will be interesting to see what you find out. I've tried to find a used remote, but haven't been successful yet.

I was going to say the same thing to you! Mine is still working interment, so this is down the list. A next year thing.

Will do. Have been looking for a "new" two-button remote, but they seem to be virtually nonexistent.
