I was just wondering if anyone knew of another way to remove the speed limiter. It's getting in the way of my daily commute now __________________ 1996 Hellrot 318ti - RIP | | | 08-15-2003, 08:55 PM | #7 | Junior Member Join Date: Aug 2003 Location: Ohio, USA Posts: 15 | I don't know if this will make sense, but I will throw it in anyways. What do you guys think of this item? Although I think this is specifically for 1995's. Not for TI. __________________ Stromung exhaust, M3 SSK, Bavauto Powerflow intake, 18" Moda R6 Wheels, Pirelli P7000SS tyres, ACS Lowering springs, Eyebrows, Clear light lenses, and more... | | | 11-17-2003, 08:17 PM | #9 | Junior Member Join Date: Oct 2003 Location: Orange County, CA Posts: 25 | I need a chip for my turbo ti. does any one make one for that application? all the chips that i look at say not for turbo applications . __________________ Current: 95 turbo 318ti Previous: 98 M3 4dr 94 318is | | | 12-14-2003, 05:03 PM | #10 | Junior Member Join Date: Dec 2003 Location: North Carolina Posts: 7 | Have to use the top OCTANE gas forever, when you place that chip. I've got one, refuse to install it. It will only shift the shift points for a noticeable difference in 2nd & 3rd gears. It will be noticeable, make passengers heads snap, chicks don't like that. But for racecourse, rallys, etc. you'll kick but. but for cruising, you might as well throw a quarter out of the window every few miles....... | | | 12-15-2003, 12:46 AM | #11 | Senior Member Join Date: Jun 2003 Location: Greenville, SC Posts: 9,356 | Huh? Chips have nothing to do with shift points. Chips remap the fuel delivery system. They raise the rev limiter and remove top speed. You are not going to get that much more hp or torque from just a chip. Cams, cold air intake, exhaust, chip all add to the overall gain. For a M44 there is only Dinan. __________________ ...steven BMW CCA #146825 1996 BMW 328ti • 2003 MINI Cooper S • 2016 M235i www.bmwcca.org | | | 12-15-2003, 03:54 AM | #12 | Member Join Date: Oct 2003 Location: Arlington, TX Posts: 35 | anyone know why Jim C doesnt make any software for the m44? | | | 12-15-2003, 04:35 AM | #13 | Senior Member Join Date: Jun 2003 Location: Greenville, SC Posts: 9,356 | He feels that he could not get enough out of the M44 to make it worth while. __________________ ...steven BMW CCA #146825 1996 BMW 328ti • 2003 MINI Cooper S • 2016 M235i www.bmwcca.org | | | 12-15-2003, 05:24 AM | #14 | Member Join Date: Dec 2003 Location: NC Posts: 36 | Quote: Originally Posted by m3rty98 I need a chip for my turbo ti. does any one make one for that application? all the chips that i look at say not for turbo applications . | may want to contact Active Autowerke, you could see if they would be open to creating a special chip for your car...they're always into big turbo projects(despite most of them built on the s50/2). worth a try. __________________ Trevor '88 Four-Eyed 'Fridge - '89 325is - '91 318is - '90 325is | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | |
