ok i think this belongs in here...

i found an '83 633csi with a 5 speed recently. 130k miles approx. its white (new paint job) and has a brand new exhaust headers to tip. the interior is fair and the engine runs very nice and smooth especially for an old car. not a tick or knock anywhere. he wants somewhere around $2k for the car and i was wondering how much they are really worth. the paint job and exhaust (authentic BMW) had to be pretty expensive themselves. and how quick are those 6ers. it has 215 hp i believe...i guess what i'd like to know is how much quicker are they than a stock ti? and does anyone know how they handle? i love the looks of the car and would like an older BMW to cruise around in when i get the money. thanks guys.

The old CSi's are VERY cool cars. WAY ahead of their time in styling, as most will agree.

I personally like them, but I'm holding out for a 'bat mobile' CSiL (lightweight). BUT those are so rare and collectable, you don't get to drive it too much...

I say get it. It's a cool car, but don't think for a second it will be cheap to own. You have to keep up on the maintainence, or it will let you down.

Good luck with it!

you guys are talking about the 3.0CSL which came before the 6 series. 2k is a pretty good price for the 633. I dont think they had 215hp, i think it was more around 205 or so, but im not positive. None the less they are pretty cool cars. hope this helps.
