Default General performance mods question

This didnt fit into any of the other forums so i hope this is the right place to post...

Anyways ive had my '98 318ti (M44B19) for a while now and want to know what the best power / torque / general performance mods are.

I've looked about on all the forums and have prob seen alot of the mods out there but i don't know what the most effective ones are, what sort of order would be sensible to do them in etc.

Helpfull advice welcome

cams the second upgrade to do? thought they would of been one of the last... anyway Shrick cams then? I asume there arnt any other OEM bimmer cams that will do the job?

and i've looked at that 4 branch, pretty sure it just for looks, think they just stuck a pipe on the side and a muffler tip on the end

i havnt seen an "i.s" or m42 / 44 intake, so i guess it would need to be a m50 / 52 custom.

we have Simotas for sale at our shop http://www.schmiedmann.com/index2.htm

under Carbon intake system

Abrahams Motorsports sells for us in the US

I would do the Internal work first ( cams , porting the head) and then map the car.

Otherwise the map u get made won´t be correct for the engine after the cams are put in
