Thanks. Turns out it was just the catback. I almost had a heart attack considering that earlier today I'd put down $230 shipped for a midpipe and I was worried I'd have to ask for my money back.

The PS reseviors are the same I believe, they just are located in different places. Unbolt it from the frame (stock TI location) and it bolts back up to the drivers side motor mount under the intake. There are two holes there, you'll see them.

If you can get ahold of all the ps lines from a 6-cyl, any 6-cyl you'll be golden, however I did use the 4-cyl lines when I did my 325ti swap.

I wouldn't recomend it and I used 6-cyl lines on the 332ti. They are worlds cleaner.

On the 2.8l, and im sure its the same on your 3.2, the line that travels from the pump to the rack uses a banjo bolt to connect to the pump, the 4cyl line is definitly different.. can't recall how it connected but looks like it screwed in. Im not sure how you used that line with your 2.5l swap looking on realoem it shows the 2.5 uses the banjo bolt setup as well.

And when I ordered my used PS lines the first time, that particular banjo bolt wasn't large enough to fit around the "hollow bolt" on the pump. Not sure what model it came off of, but I presume a 6cyl.... I still have it in the garage, I should see if it has a part # on it. Maybe not all 6cyl lines are equal.


and zboot, FWIW, Im 99% sure you can use your old resevior.. ill make sure the bolt holes are in the same place for you tommorrow, since i still have my old resevoir.

Looking at realoem, the ti line scews into the pump. Perhaps it screws into the 2.8L pump as well.

I can assure you it does not... take a look at the pump on your 2.8 if you have it already, it looks like a bleeder screw almost sticking off the pump... those are the "hollow bolts/banjo bolts" that allow the fluid to travel.

It definitly uses a banjobolt style connecter, the same type of connection as the lines on the rack.

EDIT : after thinking about it, i guess it is possible that you could remove the banjo bolt from the pump and screw the line into the pump... I was looking at it as more of the "proper" way, not totally thinking it through....
Id still go ahead and buy the proper lines though, as the return/cooling line for the 6cyls have more bends in the metal for better cooling... you can probably find the proper used lines for less than $70.

so, on tuesday I ordered my 328 brake kit from bimmerzone (brembo front rotors, pbr ceramic pads, brake wear sensor) + free shipping for $138. Today - barely two days later, they arrived! I must say I'm pretty impressed both with their price and service (I had some issues before and during the buying process which the quickly addressed. Anyway, plug over, I'm just happy to have my stuff

So, the shipping place f*cked up and my engine is sitting on a dock in Waco TX. It will go out tonight and get to Erie by Tuesday next week. So, I won't be able to get it in until that weekend. I'd hoped to at least try and get it started this weekend, but I guess it was not meant to be. This also means the money I spent having things expedited to me was wasted.

Well, I guess I'll just use this weekend to pull out the old engine and disconnect from the tranny, swap to the new clutch, do the bumper fixes that I didn't get to, and cut off the PS res bracketing.

Grr. I was hoping. . .

Well, it was the shipping company's fault, not the guy I bought it from. So, if anything, they'd be giving him the discount since technically he paid the shipping cost.

If they try to make me pay "storage" fees for it sitting in Erie a couple days until I can pick it up next week friday, then I'd bitch them out about screwing it up in the first place.

I guess around $250 because that's how much he had on the auction.

im sure you won't but don't forget the coil pack brackets on the passenger side shock tower.. those are an eyesore. I regret not cutting mine off when my motor was out.
