Default what is this?

Hey, anyone know what this part is and how exactly I remove it? It doesn't really show up in the bentley manual or realoem (or at least, since I don't know what it is, I may not be looking in the right part group).

[See the red arrow].

That's your A/C condenser. You'll have to empty your A/C refrigerant to remove it. It's illegal to vent the refrigerant into the environment, so most shops have a machine that collects it for disposal. You could use a screwdriver to press the valve in and allow the system to empty, but you didn't get that from here. If you do, place a rag over the port, wear gloves and goggles and try not to breathe it in. There's a lot of pressure in it and it could burn you, so be very careful.

is it possible for me to remove my engine while leaving it in place?

I've once got a windup toy that said it should not be given to children because it contained chemicals known by the state of California to cause cancer and other problems in women, children, and the elderly.

ROFLMFAO Josh, That's awesome!

Yeah, it's possible to leave it in place, but you'll have to remove the A/C compressor from the M44 and lift the engine over it. However, the M44's A/C compressor is different than the M52's so you're going to have to empty it anyway. I'm going to try to use the Ti's condenser and A/C lines with my swap, but the compressor definitely won't work.

I bet the low side refill spot (near the battery) would do it.

Default Weekend Two

So, this weekend work is just limited to today.

Got the engine and tranny out after disconnecting and partially labeling things.

Did not anticipate fuel issues. Now I have fuel draining out the car. Pretty much I'm waiting for that to finish so I can leave.

Tried to remove some of the transmission bolts, but not really getting anywhere. I'll lather them with PB blaster and let it sit till next weekend. Hopefully I can get it off then. Otherwise, I may end up destroying those bolts and buying new ones to go back in.

Getting tired. A little disappointed with the progress today - only got the engine and tranny out of the car. I was hoping to have the tranny disconnected and install my new clutch and flywheel.

Assuming I get the tranny off the car, then next weekend I'll put the 2.8L in and bolt up the engine, tranny, fuel lines, as much of the engine as possible, and exhaust. On sunday, I'll have the car towed back to pittsburgh where I can likely finish up without needing to have the car up on jacks.

BTW, I did not see where I'd mount the PS reservoir on the engine mounts. . . I guess I'll keep looking through my pictures for a clue.

Anyway, here are the pictures:

I've been looking at my new 32x brake rotors and pads. . .they seem to be the same size as those already on my ti. I haven't gotten the new brake calipers yet so the book's not closed on this. . .but I'm wondering just how much better the 32x brakes are. So far, everything seems to be the same up front.
