Default supercharged 98 ti 72k miles

Lookin at possibly getting a supercharged 98 ti sport 5 speed with 72k on it. The guy says that its got 255hp at the wheels and gets 34 mpg around town. I don't believe either of that, i don't even see how its possible. He is only runnin 8 psi and said the engine is slightly bored out. What type of mileage can i expect with "spirited" driving? I'm sure they last and are reliable if ya take care of them but are they known for any major problems? Are they easy to work on? I know that since its german its not gonna be simple but is it easy enough that you can do most stuff on your own and not have to pay a shop/dealer?

Thanks

'slightly bored out'? '255hp'?
hope you are ready to ask some very detailed questions about this motor... like who / when /where was this car put together?

otherwise 72K is not much - despite the SC... I installed my DASC @ 135K - I got 173K right now, with no issues.

take pics - post them on this site...

In a nutshell the DASC on an M44 is pretty bulletproof and easy to work on. How he gets 255 hp I have no idea (nor do I believe him) but you could easily dyno over 200 with stage 3 injectors, software, etc.

Get more details and post them here.

I dynoed 235 to the fly with my TT3 setup... but wow 255 RWHP? Maybe 215 RWHP...

I'm boring mine out to 2.0l with light rods and pistons but don't expect to hit over 245 with the TT st.3 stuff.

I believe it's 3.2" but I'm not positive... it is the one that puts out 10 psi

I get 34 mpg on the highway ... actually 35 with the DASC. City sucks though, around 29 or so mpg.

My old active got ~39 regularly on highway and 32 city.

i get roughly 400 miles to the tank - my daily commute is 100 miles (90% Garden State Parkway) & so the speed is 75-85mph for about 90% of the commute...

i'm sure I could get more miles per tank if i sloowed down a bit.
