Lost My Job....

L84THSKY gets a job and i loose my job today. I have been a temp at Cvs's corp office for a year now and i come in this morning as usual and say hi to a few coworkers. One of them says to me are the new people here yet and i'm like what new people. There is a man and a women starting this week,i didn't know what they were talking about. A little later they were like the new girl came around and introduced herself to everyone and said she was doing Buyer M acct which is mine. So i go to my agency and there like so John(my boss) spoke to you and i said no. I said i kind of figured i was being let go since the whole dept was talking about it. She told me there was another position in another dept she wanted me to go for,hopefully i'll have an interview tomorrow. Like another hour goes by and my boss pulls me aside and tells me he's letting me go,and the reason was the new people had more experience than me. He also tells me i don't belong in an office envirement telling me i should work in our warehouse. This really pissed me off...The woman is a beautician,how the F*%k does she have more experience than me if she is a beautician. I'm thinking he hired her cause she is smoking hot and well thats about it. So my last day is friday and i'm upset i have to stay the rest of the week and do this work,i don't want to be here now. Why they hell did u keep me here for a year??? Just wasting my time. I had an interview for the position last month but i didn't think it went well,i was very dissapointed in myself.

I'm gonna stop talking now cause i'm still mad and this probally won't make any sense if i keep on going.

I take it you were hired on thru a contract company?

Screw them and walk out. Unless you will use this employer as a reference. I walked out on my last employer with two days left from my two week notice. It was the best feeling in the world. I recommend everyone do it at least once in their life.

Anyway, I'm still sorry to hear about this. Best thing to do is not let it get you down and start looking for something new. Try to keep a positive outlook and use this to your advantage. You may find something better!!

Well friday is my last day which sucks,i got 4 more days there. I'm applying for a job @ General Dynamics Electric Boat. They build submarines for the Navy. They have an opening for a Fab Tech position,entry level and they'll pay for schooling which is held on their premises. If i get this job i'll be happy as hell.

I spent a long time in the military, so I know what job security is like. The truth is there is no job security when you work for a private company. I learned that lesson after getting layed off twice in 3 years after leaving the military.

The only security in life is EDUCATION, and lots of it. My philosophy is simple, what's in my backpack, is what I survive on. Here is a list of principles and accomplishments that help me weather any storm.

1. NEVER stop going to school!
2. Learn all you can on the job.
3. Never assume your job is secure...NEVER!
4. Try not to live beyond your means, you never know when you will be on the unemployment line.
5. Always keep your resume/interview skills fresh.

That's all I can do, the rest is out of my hands.

my whole family used to make fun of my pops cause he was very cheap (ie: smart with his money)....we always told him he was a cheapo

then he got layed off twice and we realized he's smarter than we thought....

Hey Tyler! I just lost my job on Friday. I guess the company I worked for is decalring bankruptcy this week.

So instead of starting another thread I'm bumping yours in a drunken rage to help me vent.


GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!! I'm pissed, but I'm kicking back and chilling on unemployment for a week or two. I hat not working, but it's nice to take a vacation every once in awhile. I'm starting my job search next week when I'm sober.
