Default 1997 318ti with DASC $5000 OBO NJ

I saw this on the NJ BMW CCA forums:

http://njbmwcca.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=3624

Family circumstances (ie. wife says get 4 door car for grandson transportation or else) force sale of this desirable almost certainly one of a kind super rare Ultimate Driving Machine!

I believe I am the 3d owner of this metallic green-blue (or is it blue-green) hatchback with a gray leather interior and has 155000 miles (more or less). The original owner was some little old lady, and the 2nd owner was some guy in North Jersey who had to sell it because as long as the 318 was around he wasn't driving his Mercedes enough (so he said). He bought it with about 80K on it, installed the Downing Atlanta unit (I believe the work was done by Motor Works West in Wyckoff), he put 17" E46 BMW wheels and aftermarket (Bilstein?) shocks on it, and I bought it from him at about 90000 miles (I still have the factory original 15" wheels, as well as the parts removed to install the supercharger). Since then, I have added Euro headlights (from Turner, still have the old parts) and 325 brakes (installed by Euro Performance of Wilmington, whom I use for my regular maintenance). A couple of dings/dents present at purchase have been pulled. I have maintained this car aggressively and driven it enthusiastically. I would encourage any potential purchaser to talk to John at Euro Performance about the work they've done.

Other exciting features include:
- sunroof
- Sony stereo with aux port and USB jack
- power mirrors
- power windows
- power moonroof (metal, not glass)
- manual seats
- 2 cupholders
- glovebox
- newish radiator, water pump, and thermostat
- newisher muffler
- I-4 1.9liter engine w/ 5 speed transmission
- assorted minor squeaks and rattles (I don't trust any car I can't hear)

To be fair, the car needs some regular maintenance I have had to defer because I've been laid off... it's due for tires and an alignment, and the headliner needs a little love. The AC compressor has been making the same weird noise at low RPMs for 50000 miles but still blows cold. But honest injun to the best of my knowledge there are no ticking time bombs. The car might make a great project or track car, but is drivable today and every day. All the right parts are there!

This car is the best of both worlds. With the rear seats down and the parcel shelf out, I can load it up for the boat... I can fit an enormous amount of stuff in it. On date night, I empty it out and drive the stink out of it. What's not to like? Reply quickly because I'm sure it will only take 5 or 6 months to sell. Car is located in northeastern MD but I'd be willing to drive it up to the Delaware Memorial Bridge to meet a serious buyer halfway. $5k or best offer.

Pictures below. VIN: WBACG7321VAS98359

Here's the autocheck he sent me:

1997 is first owner, 2002 is 2nd owner, 2004 is my purchase, 2005 is me moving it to MD. feels like I've had it longer than that... Any questions ?

The lack of reading comprehension on forums is something I do not understand. I see this so much, and it puzzles me every time

I'd like to add that I would be happy to check out the car for any buyers not close enough to themselves. I've owned 2 ti's and think I know a good bit about them. Plus, my current ti is also supercharged.

You're already in MD! Maybe you can make a deal with the guy. I think he might lower down to 4.5k or maybe even 4k. Want to check it out with me? Maybe he'll wait 2 months.

No seriously, he said he'd be happy if he sells it by Xmas. Email him, or shoot me one and I'll forward it to him. My email is (username)2@hotmail.com

I bet you could sell yours and get that one and have almost no net money spent.

Edit:

Actually, give me your email info. I might be able to find a buyer for your car.
