I'm In the process of doing a wiper delete and need to get behind the hatch. The two plugs near the latch are near to impossible to get off. Ive broken like two clips and now I'm just getting mad. It's the smallest things like this that are a PITA. Thanks guys Alec Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk __________________ Im guessing im the youngest member on here with a S52 power'ed Ti at 16 years old! | | | 06-22-2011, 08:08 PM | #2 | Senior Member Join Date: Oct 2008 Location: Los Angeles, CA Posts: 1,464 | Not sure if there is a recommended procedure to remove them that will save them, but I'm pretty sure they are a one time only thing. I had to break mine to remove the hatch panel (fortunately, I didn't break any other clips), but the upside is that they are pretty cheap from the dealer- I think they were only a couple dollars a piece. | | | 06-22-2011, 08:21 PM | #3 | Senior Member Join Date: Nov 2010 Location: Potomac Falls VA DMV Posts: 1,794 | Ok. Thanks. I'm just gonna rip them Out haha. There is one on either side of the latch mechanism on the trunk lid. | | | 06-22-2011, 09:58 PM | #5 | Senior Member Join Date: Nov 2010 Location: Potomac Falls VA DMV Posts: 1,794 | Yeah but they are circular. Are those the only clips? It's essentially a plastic rivet. | | | 06-22-2011, 10:53 PM | #7 | Senior Member Join Date: Nov 2010 Location: Potomac Falls VA DMV Posts: 1,794 | Yes. Exactly. I'm just gonna break it and buy new ones at the dealer Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk __________________ Im guessing im the youngest member on here with a S52 power'ed Ti at 16 years old! | | | 06-22-2011, 11:41 PM | #10 | NOBODY F's with the Jesus Join Date: Oct 2006 Location: Ventura California Posts: 7,824 | Quote: Originally Posted by slow_ti Yeah. Just take a really small screwdriver or something pointy, push the pin all the way in and it will fall out of the backside allowing you to remove the plug portion of the clip by prying it up from the edges. If you're really careful, you might be able to push the inner pin ALMOST completely through and pry the plug out without dropping the inner pin into the hatch. | | | 06-22-2011, 11:48 PM | #11 | Senior Member Join Date: Nov 2010 Location: Potomac Falls VA DMV Posts: 1,794 | Ohhhhhh.
