And if this car was special ordered would they have painted the bottoms or wouldnt they still be black? thanks! | | | 04-09-2010, 12:58 AM | #2 | Senior Member Join Date: Apr 2009 Location: Merritt Island, FL Posts: 351 | Hi Joey, I think your right about the paint on the side skirts being a giveaway. My buddy has a '95 325is and the side skirts are painted grey same as my 95 ti. I would be skeptical about the Dakar yellow color, I know this was an M3 option in 95, but I don't know about any other e36 models. How about finding the color code tag under the hood on the strut tower. That will give you confirmation. Have a good look around the engine bay and in the jambs, it is pretty hard to change body colors without some evidence somewhere. Someone would have to go to great lengths to do a disassembly and paint to get yellow in all of the nooks and crannies. __________________ Alpine Weiß 1995 318ti M50tu mostly stock, chip'd 413, AFE Intake. e36 M3 front brakes, e30 M3 rear calipers. e28 3.25 LSD + e30 axles. Oh well. still looking for a nice BMW. But alot of dishonest people out there and dealers are even worse. Alot of junk, abused, high mileage cars. Sometimes I wonder why I didnt just keep mine. | | | 04-09-2010, 02:52 AM | #4 | Senior Member Join Date: Sep 2007 Location: asdfasdf Posts: 10,002 | I've seen a Dakar 328is once on BF.C, he got it through the BMW Individual program, it had painted lowers too but it was a late enough model that it would have had those anyway, good call backing out though, if the seller seems shady they usually are | | | 04-09-2010, 03:54 AM | #5 | Senior Member Join Date: Apr 2007 Location: NY Posts: 156 | yeah he wouldn't let me take it on the highway and wouldnt let me see where he lives, and asked me if i had insurance when I wanted to test drive it and was all weird like let me drive it to a residential area. And the car fax showed the car i snow noted as yellow on it a few years ag0-- someone else told me about the BMW Individual sticker and then I asked him and he checked and said oh yeah it has it.. but ended up backing out of tommorow - i wanted to take it to my mechanic to check it out.. soem shdey fuks on Craigslist. | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | |
