Chrome instrument cluster rings?

I cracked the cluster on my 96.
I have a replacement cluster on the way that I'll use to swap the front half.
But now that I think of it, maybe this is a good time to add chrome rings to the cluster.

I see a bunch of kits on eBay.
Any recommendations?

The picture shows 4 round rings. Our cluster has a flat side towards the bottom.
Safe to assume that the picture is incorrect?

Yes, the picture appears to be for the e38 rings also listed...

Ordered 2.
My 96 has a bunch of chrome from the previous owner.
Should look good. Now would be the time since I need to pull the cluster.

The before is my M3 cluster.
I cracked the top left so used the front portion of my 95 cluster.
Since I have chrome rings around the speaker and knobs I've always wanted to do this.

Super easy to install.
I did notice some flashing that could have been removed before installing them.
Not a big deal.

I never noticed that circle below 160.

Really looks good with the chrome rings, wasn't aware that there would be such a big improvement.

Notice you have the useless MPG meter in the lower part of the speedo. Woudl really like to replace it with a Oil Temp gauge like the E46 M3 has. Know any way to make that happen?

I know. At least it is a working MPG.
I think euro M3s had oil temp.

Don't the Z Coupes have chrome rings?

They do look good. If you get them from DDM tuning just trim the flashing. I ordered 2 sets if I broken one since they are cheap.

I don't know how to feel about this. On one hand i like it, on the other hand I usually end up deleting every other chrome piece on my car
