I have put about 3k miles on it since I have had the car. On a recent trip the check engine light came on while cruising on the interstate with the cruise control on. Then while climbing up an highway overpass or bridge the car would downshifted (auto transmission), engine would rev up to 5000 rpm from about 3500 rpm but the car would not accelerate and would start to bogg down. The car also felt like it was miss firing. I then would turn the cruse off, the car would shift to a higher gear (rpms decrease) and I could slowly accerate the car using the gas pedal. Any ideas or suggestions? | | | 06-24-2008, 01:28 PM | #2 | Senior Member Join Date: Aug 2006 Location: Central NJ Posts: 2,440 | Camshaft position sensor? I had similar symptoms when the sensor went on my car. Though you really need to have your codes read to figure out what the problem is. __________________ Clever but we are clueless...
