I'm from Australia and own a 96 318Ti Mpackage. This is my first car and I love it to bits. I do have a lot of plans for it and want to do a lot, but my budget's sitting pretty low, so I'm getting there really slowly but surely. Anyway, about a month ago, I was looking at some rims for my car, and I found some really good bbs rc 17 in eBay for a really decent price. So I bought them and got them a couple of weeks later. I was so excited that I didn't even have a look at the offset or anything like that and of course paid for being oblivious. The wheels kept rubbing up against the fenders and sticking out a lot. The offset turned out to be 20+ , so the wheels did not fit. I put the stockies back on, and now I'm selling the wheels I have now while out having a loom for some wheels that will actually fit. Now, I'm planning on putting h&r lowering springs and coilovers in near future and guessing that will somehow affect the wheel/tire size as well? I'm guessing I should be looking at wheels with 35+ offset? If someone could explain what I need to be looking at, that would be really appreciated because I searched the net and it just confused me even more. I'm really new to this, so no hate guys, thank you =) | | | 09-11-2012, 02:00 AM | #2 | Senior Member Join Date: Jul 2007 Location: norcal - 94590 Posts: 3,186 | Balloon; Welcome to the forum! I run BBS RC 17's on my ti, as have many others. The keys to making them work are; 1. Tire size - reducing the tire size will help with fitment greatly. Many members run a 205/40/17 to 215/45 depending upon the manufacturer. 2. Some "rolling" of the fenders may be required. Search the forums here and there is lots of info about the process. I have posted several times about fitment personally, as well as many other members. The standard offset for e36's is 45-47mm.
