My '96 Active's selector handle button is not operating, so it is easy to slide between gears. The handle has the leather covering. The OEM leather handle replacement costs $225 . An OEM plastic handle replacement is only $25, but it won't match the leather covered steering wheel. | | | 03-25-2007, 04:23 AM | #2 | Senior Member Join Date: Mar 2006 Location: Ft Lauderdale, Fl moving to Eastern PA in May of 2007 Posts: 326 | Quote: Originally Posted by ElfinForest318ti I'm looking for a replacement leather AT gear selector handle. Works perfect and looks a whole lot better __________________ 318ti, sport, hellrot, 05/95 Munich, Germany | | | 03-25-2007, 06:41 AM | #3 | Senior Member Join Date: Jun 2006 Location: North San Diego County Posts: 108 | I'm hoping to stay OEM. I'll be searching for a 318ti Active being parted out to see if I can find a leather selector handle cheaper then $225. | | | 03-25-2007, 03:44 PM | #4 | Senior Member Join Date: Mar 2006 Location: Ft Lauderdale, Fl moving to Eastern PA in May of 2007 Posts: 326 | Quote: Originally Posted by ElfinForest318ti I'm hoping to stay OEM. The other option is you can buy the 1997 selector lever and knob for $100 on ebay and it will bolt right in. I just threw away that ugly "T" handle because I thought no one would want it but I would have sent it to you FOC. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/BMW-M...spagenameZWDVW It is possible the plastic shaft just came off the pin in the "T" handle. __________________ 318ti, sport, hellrot, 05/95 Munich, Germany | | | 03-25-2007, 07:05 PM | #5 | Senior Member Join Date: Jun 2006 Location: North San Diego County Posts: 108 | Now I understand, the handle you bought was OEM from a later model but requires a minor modification to the folk to make it fit. | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | |
