Hello Snidly, Thanks for the advice last fall on the eBay brochures. I purchased a few of them to go with my little gem of a car. Btw, I've had to put the car up for sale...moving overseas. It's posted on the For Sale section of this site. Cheers, happy driving!

Congrats, Stephen!

That one is not in the unofficial registry I've been keeping since I bought mine. Mind telling us the important details, such as color, sunroof, LSD, etc? More and more keep popping up all the time! 34 at present whose VIN numbers I scooped up, have to be more out there!

Hope you had fun at Oktoberfest, it was a lot of work for the people involved, and you were definitely one of the behind the scenes miracle workers..... Thanks!

Jet Black, Red Millpoint, sunroof, LSD.

People tell me they had a good time at Ofest.
I barely remember it.

Okay, I did see that one and copied all the info, but just didn't put it on the list. Sounds like a good deal for you!

Next year should be a nice drive to Colorado....

I purchased a ClubSport last month from a gentlemen in Rochester, IN (very well kept / maintained). I've been enjoying this car very much, it's probably one of my favorite vehicles out of all the BMW's I've owned (03-X5 4.4i, 05-330ci ZHP, 98-M3 sedan, 08-135i, 02-X5 4.6is, 95-318ti clubsport).

VIN#WBACG5329SAM53577
mileage - 97k
exterior - black
interior - black / red millpoint
LSD, sunroof

Last Club Sport built on October 13 1995 (13 Club Sports built on that day) VIN AM53731

94 Painted in Bright Red (314)

106 Painted in Jet Black (668)

There were 3 options; Sun roof, Premium sound, LSD

15 cars without sun roof.
45 cars without premium sound
86 cars without LSD
Did some research. There were 85 cars without LSD, all your other numbers are correct. The "main" run of cars started on 9/25/1995 with AM53460 and ended on 10/13/1995 with AM53731.

106 cars were Schwarz 2
94 cars were Hellrot

85 cars without LSD (47 black, 38 red)
45 cars without premium sound (27 black, 18 red)
15 cars without sunroof (8 black, 7 red)

There were no cars built with none of the three options or just premium sound. Five had only the LSD and twenty-four had only the sunroof. The most common option combination was all three (LSD, sunroof, & premium sound) with 84.

Edit: Car AM53487 seems to be an anomaly. Originally I hadn't scrolled all the way down the options list (it's split in two) and so I didn't see the M Sport Package option. It appears to be a US-spec Clubsport that was built for delivery to Great Britain. It includes several options not normally seen on US-spec cars (manually adjustable steering column, headlight aim control, warning triangle/first aid kit, & OBC V). I'm curious if it was originally purchased by a service member and where it is today.

I know BMW has a SA code for Club Sport... It's 768 Individual Series "Club Sport". I've just never heard of a ti with that code associated with it.
There were regular, non-Clubsport, ti's built within the Clubsport VIN range. Easiest way to tell if you have a real Clubsport is to run the VIN through a BMW VIN decoder. The car should be Schwarz 2 or Hellrot, red millpoint interior and there should be 3 particular options on the car, P337A - M Sports Package, S481A - Sports seat (not CS exclusive), and S704A - M Sports suspension (also not CS exclusive).

Interesting...
I would have sworn there are more Red than Black Club Sports.
So LSD was an option.

LSD was an option.. And some sellers state that they have it when they really dont

The reason you might see more Red Clubsports is because they have a higher turnover rate.

I think that's partly because Red cars tend to stand out more and Black cars blend in with the crowd a bit. One interesting thing I noticed while combing the data is that the cars were not built sequentially by VIN. There were several instances where a VIN had an earlier build date than a car with a lower number VIN.

Also, if anyone is interested, I can post some more stats once I get home from work this evening (cars built per day, option grouping, etc). I shoved all the data into a spreadsheet for future reference.

I should mention that it's stats that can be determined from the build sheets.

And Steve, unless there were some built after the last VIN I've found (AM53731) or with automatic trannys, it's exactly 200 built. While the first two built don't have any of the typical pre-production option codes, I imagine they were testers/press cars and am not sure if they were ever sold to the public. They were built a full two weeks before main production began, and most of the cars were built in groups, not single cars here and there. Going to run some more VINs tonight to eliminate the possibility of more cars.

So, nerdy stat time.

Lowest VIN: AM53293
Highest VIN: AM53731
Most sequential VINs: 37 (AM53695-AM53731; first 21 are Black, the last 16 are Red)
Fewest sequential VINS: 1 (7 different; 6 are Black, 1 Red)

Options:
  • 85 without LSD (47 Black, 38 Red)
  • 45 without premium sound (27 Black, 18 Red)
  • 15 without sunroof (8 Black, 7 Red)

Option combinations:
  • 84 with LSD, premium sound, & sunroof (40 Black, 44 Red)
  • 10 with just LSD & premium sound (8 Black, 2 Red)

  • 61 with just premium sound & sunroof (31 Black, 30 Red)
  • 5 with just LSD (0 Black, 5 Red)

  • 4 built on 9/25/1995 (4 Black, 0 Red)
  • 9 built on 9/26/1995 (9 Black, 0 Red)
  • 7 built on 9/27/1995 (7 Black, 0 Red)
  • 17 built on 9/28/1995 (7 Black, 10 Red)
  • 20 built on 9/29/1995 (0 Black, 20 Red)
  • 21 built on 10/4/1995 (5 Black, 16 Red)
  • 23 built on 10/5/1995 (14 Black, 9 Red)
  • 22 built on 10/6/1995 (4 Black, 18 Red)

This is fantastic! Where are you sourcing all this information? With 2 Club Sports in the family I am very interested in however nerdy you want to get.
