Exclamation m52b30 rings?

i just put together the rotating assembly for my M52B30. its an M52 block with M54B30 crankshaft and full M54B30 piston assembly with new crank bearings, rod bearings and a set of M52 piston rings. ive heard that the M52 rings are better or do i just swap the oil control ring? also, i didn't hone my cylinders and when i turn the engine by hand it makes a clunking noise so i think its a combination of the M52 ring set on the M54 piston and that i didnt hone the block. has anyone had a slimier problem? is this what i said i am going to do going to fix it?

Default

the noise turned out to just be the amount of play in my rob bearings because i had gotten original sized ones when i actually needed oversize ones. but i still not 100% solid on my ring situation
