According to the 3 green bars lite, it is not due for an inspection for another 20K miles or 32Km. __________________ ...steven BMW CCA #146825 1996 BMW 328ti • 2003 MINI Cooper S • 2016 M235i www.bmwcca.org | | | 01-29-2007, 12:08 AM | #18 | Senior Member Join Date: Jun 2003 Location: Greenville, SC Posts: 9,356 | Quote: Originally Posted by DRMblack7 Hi guys, The clock symbol is for either brake fluid or coolant change could be both depending on what it had last time, every 2 years brake fluid and 4 years coolant. | I wonder why it's only in Euro clusters. __________________ ...steven BMW CCA #146825 1996 BMW 328ti • 2003 MINI Cooper S • 2016 M235i www.bmwcca.org | | | 01-29-2007, 12:15 AM | #19 | Senior Member Join Date: Jan 2007 Location: Ireland Posts: 382 | the bmw service is divided into oil service inspection 1 inspection 2 brake fluid coolant the oil service and inspection have a written warning so it should be brake fluid then since you would kno if your coolant was bad..... edit: sorry looks like its figured out then... | | | 01-29-2007, 12:25 AM | #20 | Senior Member Join Date: Jun 2003 Location: Greenville, SC Posts: 9,356 | Quote: Originally Posted by 318iS the bmw service is divided into oil service inspection 1 inspection 2 brake fluid coolant the oil service and inspection have a written warning so it should be brake fluid then since you would kno if your coolant was bad..... edit: sorry looks like its figured out then... | In the US it's oil service Inspection I oil service Inspection II repeat __________________ ...steven BMW CCA #146825 1996 BMW 328ti • 2003 MINI Cooper S • 2016 M235i www.bmwcca.org | | | 01-29-2007, 12:38 AM | #21 | Senior Member Join Date: Jan 2007 Location: Ireland Posts: 382 | Quote: Originally Posted by 1996 328ti In the US it's oil service Inspection I oil service Inspection II repeat | no its like that here too... what i said was just how the different service types are divided up..... ***I just read my service book..... it says "If the clock symbol lights up, brake fluid renewal is due" *** | | | 01-29-2007, 12:47 AM | #22 | Senior Member Join Date: Jun 2003 Location: Greenville, SC Posts: 9,356 | Quote: Originally Posted by 318iS ***I just read my service book..... it says "If the clock symbol lights up, brake fluid renewal is due" *** | Amazing what you will find in the manual. Must be a TUV requirement. Pretty good idea if you ask me. I guess it's based on time. I can't believe this is the 1st time anyone asked about it. __________________ ...steven BMW CCA #146825 1996 BMW 328ti • 2003 MINI Cooper S • 2016 M235i www.bmwcca.org | | | 01-29-2007, 12:49 AM | #23 | Senior Member Join Date: Jan 2007 Location: Ireland Posts: 382 | whats amazing is that that light has been on in my car for about a month now and i never bothered finding out what it was....... well guess i'll be changin the brake fluid soon then..... | | | 01-29-2007, 12:56 AM | #24 | Junior Member Join Date: Dec 2006 Location: bucharest-EU Posts: 29 | Quote: Originally Posted by 1996 328ti Let's get back on topic. I know a tech at BMW North America. I'll ask him. Also I just recently set location to be a required field because we have members all over the world. Edit: Just sent off an email to my friend at BMW NA. I hope he still works there. | Thank you. I'll change the brake fluid then. __________________ Luv My Beemer /oOO (|||)(|||) OOo\ | | | 01-29-2007, 01:13 AM | #25 | TRETEN IRGENDEINES ESELS Join Date: Aug 2004 Location: Rhode Island Posts: 3,687 | If you contact your local Bmw dealership thiey will tell you what it is. __________________ 98 Avus Blue 318 ti Active clear outs all around, stealth turning signals, blue led interior lights, 35% tinted windows,K&N air filter, 12" Kenwood Sub, MTX Thunder Amp,Alpine cd changer, Leatherz Armrest,ACS Pedals/Handbrake/FloorMats & Vitesse Tuning Carbon Fiber B-Pillars/CF Spark Plug Cover, New 16" MSW Typer 14 Rims on Goodyear Triple Treds www.myspace.com/avusblueti | | | 01-29-2007, 03:50 AM | #26 | Senior Member Join Date: Nov 2006 Location: Charlottesville, VA Posts: 234 | You will probably still have to reset something to get the clock to go out. Perhaps one of our EU members can help with info there? -Paul | | | 01-30-2007, 12:37 AM | #27 | Member Join Date: Nov 2006 Location: Whitstable, England Posts: 41 | Well with the uk reseting tool, you hold down the inspection button. I mention'd this tread today at work (Bmw Dealer) and we all thought that all bm's had the clock symbol, not just euro vehicles, learn somthing new every day.
