I'm guessing it cools the brakes and senses when they are overheating? I need to have it replaced and I'm wondering how important it really is. I don't recall my 95' having this feature but I could be wrong. (my car is a 97') Anyway, it's #20 in the link. Thanks guys. http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts...58&hg=51&fg=15 | | | 03-26-2008, 01:44 AM | #2 | Senior Member Join Date: Sep 2007 Location: asdfasdf Posts: 10,002 | I'm pretty sure that there are plenty of people running without the ducts so I'm going to say that they aren't important, I have them and don't think that they really do anything but look kinda cool | | | 03-26-2008, 02:00 AM | #3 | Senior Member Join Date: Jun 2003 Location: Greenville, SC Posts: 9,356 | I wouldn't worry about it. __________________ ...steven BMW CCA #146825 1996 BMW 328ti • 2003 MINI Cooper S • 2016 M235i www.bmwcca.org | | | 03-26-2008, 03:55 AM | #4 | Senior Member Join Date: Nov 2006 Location: Stamford, CT <-> Boston, MA Posts: 1,393 | The driver's side brake duct houses the external temp probe don't forget __________________ BMWCCA #403399 2012 Mini Cooper S Clubman, 6-Speed Loaded 2001 325xi, Winter Package, 5-Speed Traded 1998 318ti, Active, Automatic, TOTAL LOSS R.I.P. 10/20/08 Bilstein Sport Shocks/Struts . I always wondered if there was a specifically designed place for it. | | | 03-26-2008, 12:58 PM | #8 | Member Join Date: Feb 2007 Location: Little Rock Posts: 51 | I don't have the external temperature feature. I'm going to have the duct replaced because I want the car to remain perfect. Also, The one I'm going to replace is on the passenger side. It doesn't look like a probe to me; more like a flat disc inside the duct. | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | |
